Question for anyone who can assist.

I have a 1992 Chevy G20 conversion van.

I believe the stock wheels/rims are 15x6.5 wheel/rim with a 5x127 (5x5 bolt pattern) with a 0 offset, with a hub bore of 78.3 (if that matters)

I would like to purchase aftermarket wheels, and have found 15x8 with 5x127 bolt pattern (5x5) Most sites are saying "will not work for your application"

Does anyone know what is the max offset is I can use (without hitting the caliper, I think that is the key) along with does the "hub size matter if it would he an 81 or larger?

Any input would be great. I have read a few other posts and didn't seem to find the answer.

I will say, it's getting harder and harder to find 15" 5x127 bolt pattern wheels!

Sorry if I am using "offset" wrong. Trying to learn on wheels/rims

Thanks
Bob

What kind of rims are you looking for? Slots, Cragar SS, New school aluminum?

I have Craiger SS 15x8 2" reverse offset and they are very close to the fender when cutting the wheel. For positive offset I'm not sure but you could cut the steering hard and inspect the clearance. The measurement is taken from between the bead and wheel on the backside of the rim to the mating surface of the wheel hub

I am looking at either one of the following

Vision Torque 143 (15x8 5x127 with 0 offset)
or
Vision Dayton 147 (15x8 5x127 with 0 offset)

Those are the styles that I like and have found that are close to being able to fit.

What's on mine are Vision Soft 8, they weren't very expensive as they're painted steel. I think they're 15x7 with no offset and I have no fit issues with 235/75 15 light truck tires.

I thought about smaller tires in the front but this van has a 4WAL ABS that seems to be functioning so rather than risk messing that up I kept it all the same.
