Hi, I`m not having much luck sourcing wheels to suit what I want,
15" seem a little small and dont fill the wheel arch. But getting larger wheels in the style I want is pretty much a no no.
One way out is to fit the 15`s and lower the van about 2"..
Can I do this at the front by cutting the coils? I really dont want to go the drop spindle route.
I can lower the rear with a 2" lowering block. Its the front I`m concerned about..
would appreciate any comments

Why wouldn't you want to use drop spindles? They are the best way to lower while keeping your geometry correct. Cutting coils is always a bad plan.

Hi Tuner, you are totally correct, I guess I was looking at the complete picture, sourcing the spindles in the Usa, then shipping, then fitting.. thae cost...
Just looking for an easier way out.
I`ll look closer into drop spindles, see whats involved, don`t suppose you have a link I could check out to see whats involved in fitting them, and where I can find them etc

I used 2.5" drop spindles on mine and redid the entire front suspension while I was at it. There are all kinds of pictures in my build thread. Basically, you have 2 ball joints, a tie rod, hub assembly, and a caliper that attach to each knuckle. If you are comfortable replacing those parts yourself, then you can replace the knuckle. Make sure that you align it all when you are done.

Side note, I love the look with the 2.5" drop, but I would probably go with 2" if I was doing it again. I still get some occasional rubbing on heavy dips when pulling the trailer.

thanks for that, I have been working on American cars n vans for over 40 years here and in the Uk, ( I owned and operated American Car Specialists in North London for 20 years before mobeing here to Oz) so I`m pretty comfortable doing any job. Just takes me longer these days.. ha,
Its great being able to ask questions on the forum, coz nine times out of ten it reminds me of jobs I probablly did 20 odd years ago. I just did all the front end bushes on mine I used nolothene, doesn`t feel any better or worse. Looking fwd to following your project
