The last time we were out there in 2006 we found this cool bar, cant wait to get back there.
http://www.beachcalifornia.com/sunset-beach-bars-mothers.html
is there a promotional code or something for those room rates?
when looking at the reservations online, they prices are a wee bit higher, lol
Thanks for posting Billo !!!
Wahoo we are going back to Cali - I can't wait! Sunshine, palm trees and frinds some of my favorite things :)))))
The reservations and contract with the Hotel is NOT set up yet.
We will announce it when they are ready to take reservations
( Wow Dave, the snow hasn't even settled down from Wisconsin Yet ! You must need to thaw out. )
nothing wrong with getting my reservations in early!
If I heard right on the web broadcast from the C of Cs it was going to be 95. per night... a bunch more then in 06 butt still not a bad price! I sure do hope to be there!!!
Ya...but this price includes Breakfast buffet, which has to be worth 10 bucks a person...
All I know is I have a space ready--
we'll have to see how that pans out.
I do have my Sunshine super coozy--thanks Michelle!
I'll use it and wish really, really hard!
Oh bet my wife wont miss this Councils!!!!! Im looking forward to warm sun and fun!!!! Pub Crawl?????????????
Only I would be thinking Beer!!!!! Lemonades by the pool???
I am looking forward to this one.... ALOT of my family history is from right there in that area, enough that we have a wing in a smaller museum in the area... got to go to this one, even if I have to walk to get there!
California here we come . . . . !
I talked to Gary and Larry (the twins) and they gave me an offer I almost can't refuse. Split the plane tickets, split the room, and they'll even pick me up and take me to the airport! I think I should go for it. Just got to convince the wife! LOL! I know she probably wouldn't go.
I think they did tell me that the price of the room included the breakfast buffet.
Can't beat that Nate
.We are thinking about it.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. I could write a book on what I think of us going back to California for the CofC in 2011. But I'll let the pictures from 2006 do the talking :
Full coverage of the 2006 CofC in Anaheim Believe me, you really won't want to be on the 15"-22" side of this CofC.
Sounds real good to me as I go to West coast every year for 3 weeks.. I will just be doing a double trip for 2011. Planning on being there a week or two early and take in the Winternationals.. What a way to start the drag racing and vannin season off. See yo all there!!
if I were to fly out a few days early, is there anyone I could hang out with for a few days till councils starts to cut down on my expenses? the hotel for a week is going to kill me! lol
I am sure we can find a place for you to stay. Brad

Telephone: +1-714-739-5600 Fax: +1-714-521-9650
RESERVATIONS 1-800-333-3333
Group rate is Council of Councils
I can't wait - Don't forget to support the Left Coast raffle this summer.
What happens at CofC - Lots of laughter, adventures, and fun - Just like a van run. There are some meetings to help pass along ideas and grow the sport. Beeper if you haven't been I suggest you mark it on your calendar and come get and share some ideas. (As well as see some vans and have lots of fun!)
they charge you 1 night up front for the reservation?
Most hotels do not charge you in advance or put a "hold" on your card for the amount of the rooms. They just use the card # to hold your reservation.
when I booked my room for wisconsin, they billed me at the time of booking for 1 full night plus tax.
booked my room. guy I spoke with on the phone was fantastic.
now who can I hang out with for a couple of days if I fly out early? like on the 12 or 13th? more nights I can hang out, the less I have to spend on the hotel!
Nice web site Billo! Easy to navigate and full of information. I've got it bookmarked and let me know if you need me to do anything to help out.
Heck, I can drive to this one.
they guy on the phone said the rooms were suites, and that the bedroom was a separate part with a door. he made it sound like there were 2 bedrooms in the room? I'm confused, I asked for the 2 beds, so are there 2 or 4 beds total?
Astro,
If you asked for two beds they will both be in the back bedroom. The front living room has a sofa couch that provides sleeping area for two more. You will also find a desk or table in the front room along with a nice wet bar, microwave and mini-frig. They are very nice accommodations. The place was originally an Embassy Suite so that is what the layout is like.
http://www.2011cofc.exofire.net/
Hmmmm Just Dreaming out loud dreaming that it would be nice to get a crew to try the Train out there with a couple vans on it,maybe we can get a good rate with a handful of vans.Would be nice wouldn't......sleep in the van instead.
Embassy suites? HMM, isn't that the hotel in Co.? Hope no rollover from the old name. Hte to get kicked out of another.
Well, I should have my van as a backup instead of hotel across the street.
Jim...that was KC...quite the weekend there...

Whats the best airport to fly in to?
Hmmmm Just Dreaming out loud dreaming that it would be nice to get a crew to try the Train out there with a couple vans on it,maybe we can get a good rate with a handful of vans.Would be nice wouldn't......sleep in the van instead.
Today I called autobahn Vehicle relocation to just see how much it would cost to bring a van in a box trailer out west.3000.00 one way,I was Dreaming....
John Wayne airport in Orange county
Southwest has just opened up their February dates ... web special $134 each way. I might have to lock that in pronto.
Anyone planning to attend this years C of C, please get your room reservations in NOW.
Left Coast will be having a planning meeting on Nov 6 at the hotel site. We will be nailing down a lot of details with the hotel. The more rooms we have reserved = the more bargining power we have with the hotel. Better bargining with the hotel = better time at C of C.
Ed the web guru for Truckinweb.com has let me know he wants to come to the CofC to meet the vanners, see the vans and shoot some video. I'm working on BoB and Dan as well. I've invited Ed on our shop tour, still waiting for confirmation on the major stops and which day(s) the tour will happen. If you liked what we did in 2006 ... expect even better.
Ed just posted this on the Truckinweb site:
"I also saw that there's a humongous van show planned in early 2011 right in Truckin's back yard of Southern California. We are eagerly looking forward to it, and plan on covering it extensively, both on the web and in the magazine."
That would be nice to see them there, hope it happens.Great work Doug!
Does anyone know if there are any other events or van/car/truck shows going on around that time nearby? Dave
Here you go Dave:
Jan 28-30 62nd Grand National Roadster Show, Pomona
Feb 11-13 Sacramento Autorama
Feb 11-14 NHRA Winternationals Pomona
Feb 13 Long Beach - Hi-Performance Swap Meet & Car Show
Thanks to JR, we have a tour of George Barris shop scheduled for 11 am on thursday 17 Feb 2011.
A sign up section will be up on the web site in a couple of days.
There are still several other Irons in the fire yet. So stay tuned.
That's great news Billo. I booked my flight to arrive on the Wednesday and I was a bit worried I'd miss this again. Vanners are still raving about the Barris shop tour in 2006.
Is there anybody planning on CaraVannin' out there?? I know it's far, but look at the price Vanmachineman was given to have his van shipped out.
Just looking at some of my old (1970's) Van mags, and it seemed there was always Caravans going some where.
A few dozen or couple 100 Vans Krooozin, from back east and the Mid-West, all the way out to Califonia, would be Sweeet and one Hell of a Sight to see!!!
It's a dream for me, but you never know. It's something I've wanted to toss out there and see want kind of response I'd get.
I'd love to see the west coast at least one more time in my life, and this would be worth the drive.
I'm sure aLot has changed since 1988!!!
Later, Kev-
Pretty sure Coop is driving out, and Judith, but he will cruise 70, and she will do 10 out of Florida...
The information on Bible Advertisements is now posted on the web site.
10 miles an hour out of Florida will take her a long time to get to California! Now 70 like Coop will get her there 7 times sooner.
Just kidding!
If we head out there, we will take I-35 south till past KC and then start working our way South and West till we get down to either I-40 or I-10, trying not to cross the mountains in snowy weather. We will know more when it gets closer to the end of the year.
We are planning to make this, BUT will not know for sure until like a week before , so IF we do make it, we will arrive on Friday evening and leave sunday afternoon, flying there, so MIGHT need "Shuttle service" from a vanner to get to some stuff. . . . .will keep you posted. IF we do not make C of C, we WILL be at the Nats as it is in Dee's home state and she wants to see family while out there.
We are booked Wisconsin will be in da house
Just booked my flights...329.40 Round trip, Chicago to Orange County. Southwest has some smokin' deals right now. Used card points, but still had to pay 29.40.
wish I could attend, just cant be gone for a week, the downfall of being self employed and a 1 man shop, but not complaining, maybe back to the east side some year.
We have checked in on the hotel and have started to break in the bartenders - And let me tell you they make a hell of a good cocktail :))))) Let the party begin. I can't wait!!!
Don't for get to send in your bible ads by 1-15-10!!!!!
bus 15
1/2 30
full 40
Southest just brought out some smokin' deals today...get those flights booked!
www.southwest.com
Booked my tickets Saturday on Southwest. And ya know they give 2 free luggage per person. Most other airlines are $25 for the 1st one then $55 for the second one now./
I just sent out the registration packets for the councils to designate their representatives for the C of C meeting.
If your council does not receive an envelope in the next week or so, you are not on the current c of c mailing list.
let me know if anyone needs a council registration packet.
LeftCoast@2011cofc.exofire.net
Are there going to be live feeds to the meetings this year?
Are there going to be live feeds to the meetings this year?
hopefully... though I need to pack a little lighter this year, I brought way too much stuff that I never even used last time
The live feeds last year were excellent. We'll hopefully be able to do that from the meetings, the van show and maybe some of the outings.
If you need me to bring anything Astro or need stuff down there that someone local may have just let us know.
That would be AWESOME! That way those of us that cannot be there in person can still participate in the meetings.
Thanks guys!
Yes Dave, If you need equipment, please let me know and I will try to find it locally. No need for you to bring the kitchen sink. I know for one thing, I have a tri-pod for cameras.
Billo, I sent you a PM...need a projector or 2...
I sure hope Astro comes and does the live feeds. Those were awesome Dave.
If you have not booked your room for Councils yet, Jan 18, 2011
is the absolute last day to get the reduced room rate.
with airport security like it is this year, I'm not attempting to bring the stuff I did last year.. 50 pounds of electronics in your carry on is pushing your luck!
I want to pack as light as possible to save on hassles, so... that being said..
if someone has a decent, powerful, modern laptop (core 2 duo or the like) that I can use during the meetings for connecting the webcam to, that would be helpful.
my laptop is a clunker and is just huge, and it gave me fits at the nats when trying to use it the same way I did at C of C.
I will be bringing my netbook, but it isn't the strongest system, but will do the basic job, if nothing else.
a decent tripod will be nice.
I am getting a better microphone for use in the smaller meetings, main meeting will depend on use of PA, etc, like last year.
I brought a camcorder last year, but I think I ended up using my webcam more, as it worked better. so my plan now is to bring the webcam, and if I find a decent HD camcorder that will do everything I need, and I can afford, I will pick one up. a camcorder that will record and stream video at the same time would be awesome
now, I can use tinychat like last year, everyone is familiar with that already by this point, and it allows others in the crowd (like howard and geoff) to run their cams as well.
there is also
U-STREAM, which would allow for recording the broadcast at the same time online, but only allows for one cam.
now, if I decide to ship some stuff out ahead of time, who can I ship it to that will be able to ship it back to me after? (to cut down on luggage)
Dave,
You can ship your stuff to me. I will be at the hotel from Wed on. I can also take care of mailing your stuff back to you.
Let me know. Brad
Brad or Billo can you find out if we can ship stuff directly to the hotel the week before or the week of and put it in C/O of the CofC ?
At this rate Brad your van will be full if we send everything to you
. I have a bunch of stuff that I need to send your way including the awards for the show, dash plaques, t-shirts, door prizes, Norwegian van magazines, hot Finnish and Swedish babes ...
LOL, Too funny Doug. I will have plenty of room in my van/vans. We will also find out if you can mail stuff to the hotel. Brad
so it has been suggested that instead of getting a camcorder, I get a better laptop, of course this will cost about twice as much as I wanted to spend, but it would provide a strong cornerstone for the rest of the broadcast to build upon.
so I am shopping for a laptop, now is the time with the sales, found a couple for $500, hoping to narrow it down to something suitable under $400. I don't wan't to completely drain the coffers, I had some other items I wanted to get to help the website out for this coming vanning season.
EDIT: Laptop bought, found a hell of a deal on one that fit the bill perfectly. and I was able to get it on no interest for 6 months so I don't have to drain the account all at once to pay for it.
I'm taking a page from dropjaw's play book, I want to get an EZ-up and other items and setup on vendors row and be more visible at events, provide a place where people can display flyers, I can sell the vanning.com gear, answer questions, etc...
I plan on shipping a box or 3 or 3 or 4(sorry!!) to Tom's. We will be there on the Saturday before, so we can try to work out some kinks ahead of time. Geoff and I may try a live feed from Brad''s on Sunday...Tom just emailed me that he has a portable PA for use at the van show. I'll be carry-oning my laptop and camera...
I am flying in on saturday as well, my netbook will work at the van show, I can walk around with that and broadcast like I did at the nats.
As an expert on International Shipping and Custom's I feel obligated to drop by and package the Finnish and Swedish Babes for easier handling.....
make sure to send them back c/o Florida van council!
Ye ha I just booked the flights. Waiting on the car rental but we will see you all there!
ok... I have the new laptop, webcam and a mic... (donations gladly accepted to help pay for it all!)
tested things out tonight, had no issues running multiple cams at the same time on the same laptop (had 3 going at once, but that was pushing it)
Ok we are just over a month away - a bird told me 43 sleeps until councils - wahoo I can hardly wait. SO that means the deadline fo rthe bible ads is just around the corner! Please let me know ASAP if you want to advertise your event.

We are just about 30 days from Counculs - Wahoo - I can feel the good time that are sure to follow.
Please get those room reserved! On 1/18/11 they open the block up to all those regular people!
Let's fill the hotel with Vanners!
Unfortunatly we will NOT be able to make this party. . . .
funds fell through for this one, so MAYBE next year.
To anyone looking to rent a car and are flying into John Wayne Airport I just booked a car for the week for $107 & tax. Thrifty Car Rental has been running specials called their Wild Card which guarantees you a Mid-Size car or larger depending what they have in stock. They had the special two weeks ago and I kept looking daily and they have it again today. They may offer the special at other airports as well/
See you all there!
O Vanners
I have 2 rooms booked that I won't be using. I will hold them til Feb 1st and then cancel them if no vanners need them. One is a king suite, the other a double. PM me if you need one. The king is for Wed thru Saturday, the double is for friday and Saturday only.
If anyone needs a plane ticket, I have $317.00 Southwest Airlines credit or an actual flight booked from St. Louis to Orange County Santa Ana for Wed 16th and return Sunday 20th. You can also stay with a group of us at my house and Kristin will take us all to the airport and pick us up. I think South west will also take that credit towards another ticket. Sold at face value of $317.00 even.
Let me know asap.
314-704-6554.
Check the web site
http://www.2011cofc.exofire.net/Updated schedule of events and a new venue for Vanners Night Out
!!!!!!!!!!!! HOOTERS !!!!!!!
I am looking for a a roommate or someone that needs a roommate, I have room booked for 5 nights, but lost my roommate it seems. so if you need space, let me know, if you have space, I can cancel my room and split yours with you.
edit - nevermind, Matchstick took me up on the offer, so I am all set now for a roommate.
I noticed that you didn't include the Donut Derelict cruise on Saturday. I talked to Tom today, and we are planning on meeting at the Lobby at 430 AM (yes, I said AM!!!) and we would like as many vanners as have their vans there to bring them. we also will have transportation available. The cruise lasts from about 530 til about 8, so we will be back in time for the meeting. And, the seminars are at 930 AN, not PM!!!!!
4:30 am Saturday morning. Guess we won't be sleeping any Friday.
I'm up for a early morning cruise over to the Donut Derelict cruise. Brad
Somehow I had a feeling you'd be in!
5:30am to 8am, do they cruise early in California because it is too hot to drive during the day? Good thing as the AC is not hook up in the van anyway.
Is it even daylight at that time? Guess we better make sure the lights are working on the van just in case.
Any idea on how far or where the cruise will be going?
The Cruise is stationary. They do it in the parking lot of a strip mall before it opens, that's why it's so early.
It's often the starting point of an action packed Saturday. Last time I was in the area Lordmodelbuilder and I did Donut Derelicts, then the Beachcombers Woody show, then caught the start of PTeazers cruise and I was back in Santa Monica by 1:00 pm.
I might need to buy some Red Bull for Saturday though, have a feeling I'll need a boost around 3:00 or a nap
Looks like we will have plenty of time to look at the van show. Because it should be a very short C of C meeting.
We have only received 12 council registrations back so far.
Who was it that said I could crash at their place for the days preceding c of c?
Brad said he would find you someplace.
We have only received 12 council registrations back so far.
WVC's went out this week
I know a couple people offered, but I could have sworn I made arrangements with Tom, I remember him saying he was putting an addition on the house and would have plenty of room, but he doesn't seem to remember that, or else it was someone else and I am just losing my mind....
the more I think about this, we discussed at the Nats.. in person.
I have 2 rooms booked that I won't be using. I will hold them til Feb 1st and then cancel them if no vanners need them. One is a king suite, the other a double. PM me if you need one. The king is for Wed thru Saturday, the double is for friday and Saturday only.
I need to book a room still.. probably for only Friday and Saturday...
I would prefer the king bed. I will PM you about this or please contact me directly kookykrispy@yahoo.com
We have a double from Wed through Sat. We would like a King so if someone needs to swap let me know.
I'm flying in on Saturday to LAX at 06:27pm, I guess that is PST.
I guess I need someone willing to pick me up and put me up for a couple of days..
I was hoping to do the tourist thing with Howard and crew, I can't really afford to rent a car on top of everything else.
Room PMs answered...
Dave...Tom would be the one to pick you up, I guess...He said you e mailed him...
Room PMs answered...
Dave...Tom would be the one to pick you up, I guess...He said you e mailed him...
Yeah, but he didn't seem to remember, so I thought maybe I needed to find an alternative, I emailed him back and waiting for an answer
He's at a van event in norcal this weekend...
Mary and I finally got our plane tickets. We reserved our room a month ago.We will be coming in on wed.Lax at 2:30 pm.we are staying till Sun.Now to get a ride to the Hotel from the airport???Can't wait to See everyone. This will be only my 3rd CofC.
Tick Tick Tick..........
I'll pick you up Todd, I'm getting in just before you. I'll go down to the beach while I'm waiting for you.
Will look forward to seeing you both on the other side of the country.
2 weeks from right now, we will be starting our approach into John Wayne International airport!!!! I just found out today that midwest will have 17 current and former members there, including 6 club chairmen, and 3 of our founding members who were at the very first meeting in March of 1972!! Should be a pretty cool storytime!
what are smoking laws in California like?
am I going to be able to sit out somewhere and enjoy a cigar at least once?
or is that taboo in that state? lol
You can smoke anywhere in California you like, as long as you don't exhale.
The Hotel has several covered areas outside where you may indulge. Some of the beach cities passed laws where you can't smoke on the beach. You have to watch for posted signs.
ok.. I know some places have some pretty strict no smoking laws.. but sounds like I should be all set.
not like I am going to be smoking all the time, but I'm going to be in a new place with friends doing something cool, I need to have at least one cigar break to savor the moment! lol
You might have to get an e-cig
You might have to get an e-cig
HAH! yer funny! lol
Astro,
Maybe you can get some of our Canadian friends to bring you one of those Cuban Cigars they can get easier than us!
Thanks a lot Dave ... gee why isn't Doug at the CofC? Oh he got arrested for smuggling in a Cuban Cigar
they've sent him to Guantanamo Bay now ...
Two weeks from today I will be in California ! I just hope the weather is better that day up here and not Snowmagedden part II.
Astro,
Maybe you can get some of our Canadian friends to bring you one of those Cuban Cigars they can get easier than us!
Hey Dave, you are in Canada all the time ..they are readily available !
The count down is on.... We are looking forward to wonderful councils with all the vanners that make the trip west to the Sunshine!
As for smoking they have passed a law no smoking in restaurants and bars - FYI
Looks like it should be high 60's to low 70's and sunny! How does that sound my snow bound vanners???? There is still time to get there :)))))
yeah, maine is the same way, I just wasn't sure how strict they were on public smoking. I'm all set though from what I have been told.
14 councils have registered their representatives for the meeting.
Arizona Van Council
North West Van Council
Mid America Van Council
Downstate Illinois Van Council
South East Virginia Van Council
North East Ohio Van Congress
Wisconsin Van Council
Heart of America Van Council
V.O.I.C.E.S.
Southern Ohio Van Council
Illinois/Indiana Van Council
Northern California Van Council
Hoosier Van Congress
Southern California Van Council
Sorry Billo; Sometimes paperwork gets lost in the great state of Colorado, but you can add Colorado Van Council to your list.
Anyone else driving in from the east to the C of C? We are coming in thru Arizona (plus alot of other states), stopping in San Diego for a day and then up to Buena Park.
On that list of councils I see 3 councils missing that I know are going. I still haven't sent my info as I'm not sure who I'm representing this time around. We really do have to do something one day to have representation for vanning.com there.
If your like me and waited til the last minute to rent a car ... Southwest has a 30% deal with Budget, I was freaking this week looking at prices. Well Budget has a deal that after taxes is $230 for a week for a full size car. That is the starting price for most other companies before taxes for a compact car.
If your looking for stuff to do, there are tickets avaialble for the Leno show next week. You have to be there for 2:30 in Burbank. It's pretty neat to see the show being done and you never know who will be on, admission for that is free. Leno is also performing at the 250 seat Comedy and Magic Club Hermosa Beach Sunday nights, $30 per person. You can reserve online.
We really do have to do something one day to have representation for vanning.com there.
This has been brought up before, and we don't fit the requirements. we don't represent a specific geographic area, etc...
though if there were some other way for us to have a voice there that didn't break any rules, I think it is a good idea, seeing as you and I are usually asked to speak on stuff anyway.
something that we can bring up at this years meeting I suppose :-)
I posted that Midwest Vans Ltd will be there, but the post disappeared!
As of today, 16 councils have sent in their reg forms, including Colorado and Midwest. Doug noted that he knew of three other councils that were not on the previous list? Left Coast Vanners, your hosts for this year's Council of Councils, sent out reg forms to all the councils in December. They are important so that we can get rep badges prepared and have a good idea how many tables need to be set-up for the representatives. The deadline was January 30, 2011! If your council has not sent in a form please contact LeftCoastVanners@yahoo.com immediately.
Astro, I spoke to Eddie/Eddie about it last weekend while you were here, and he assured me that the registration had been mailed in, but he didn't say what date he had mailed it. Talking to Smut and Coot about travel plans, they definitely said that he was flying out there, although I'm not sure if he has a second NEVC rep to sit with him at the meeting.
NEVC not on the list as of today
Don't know,Billo. Like I said, I spoke to Eddie Lamothe, our NEVC Co-Chairman last Saturday, and he told me that he sent in the paperwork. Unfortunately, he doesn't have a computer at home, so he can't talk to you on here and straighten things out. If you want, I can PM you his cell-phone number, and you can call him yourself, or vice-versa.
Can we get a posting of dates and times for all of the meetings that will be viewable on line?
Thank You!
Thanks Dave, did see that in the other post AFTER I read this one.
Maybe as it gets closer, and final details of each one that will be broadcast had a direct link to it (in it's own topic) would be REALLY helpful to some of us puter idiots
Also, if we need to download anything new, improved, or????
Just want to be prepared is all!
Thanks!

Kerplunk from CT See you all soon!
Great pics Howard, looks like a lot of fun!
http://www.weather.com/weather/5-day/USCA0138says we are getting a 70 % chance of rain on sat
Yeah, it's already been posted that Cali is gonna get hit with rain starting today & Wed. Thurs might be ok & then more rain. The rain is not going to stop the CofC from happening. Hope to see everyone there! Brad
For those of you flying in and renting a car, beware of the local drivers when it is raining.
A significant percentage of them drive faster and tailgate, while talking on their phone, applying makeup and shaking their fist at you for having the audacity to not understand that they are in a rush to get to the next redlight.
What...no California Texters??????? lol
Plenty of Texters too, that's why only a dozen cars make it through a green light. Seems to be some sort of 4 carlength rule before taking one's foot off the brake applies. But then they drive as fast as they can to the next redlight.
It's why I do not own a gun.
I like my freedom.
get caught textin or talkin its a $375 ticket
I put picture links on facebook in the pre event thread.
Thanks for the updates Howard nice tour you`ve been doing, many familiar places.
Have had to adjust my schedule a bit for possible fair weather people. Been told by some rain or shine they`ll be there, after all their vanners.

We've been internet challenged and as usual kinda busy trying to shoe horn as much fun into this as possible between the meetings here at the CofC and outside with some people we'll talk about when all the dust settles.
I'm 100 miles north of LA... on my way! See you all soon!!!
Beautiful morning in California:
Just wanted to say pass along "Thanks!" to Truckin' Mag for their coverage and wonderful photos from the George Barris Trip!

Did Dave video the van show ?
Guess we'll have to be patient and wait for the rest of the outcome to this weekend. Hopefully next year it's closer to me and not in England like it was one year.....

Hey Doug, I heard that a lot of 'dust' was raised on Saturday !!!!!
Great pics. Thanks for sharing. Sounds like a great time and vanners were well represented. Great show. Can't wait to see more pics.
Got home from Councils this morning. Finally loaded a few pics on my site. Here's the link.
TO THE PICTURES. Pretty sweet van show. The weather had threatened us all week & it rained hard most of Friday. Awoke Saturday morning to sunshine! The van gods were over us for sure.
There were 60+ vans & I believe 37 were officially entered in the show. It was a mad thrash to get em all parked, but it all came together.
Big thanks to Virtual for spearheading the show,The Nats board for the plaques & all their help in judging the vans & all the Wheels of Confusion members that helped with the van parking & moving. Also a big thanks to the many people that donated stuff for the door prizes.
Also have to thank everyone that attended the show & to Tom Chronister for the truck & trailer to get Coby's Van Go to & from the show.
It was quite a day & overall one awesome Councils!
I will type more later...Kinda tired now. Thanks everyone! Brad
Great Pics Brad, thanks for sharing! Wish I could have come..
great pics., thanks for posting,Coop never leaves home without his paint box, allmost like a doctor.
Actually, Coop didn't have any painting supplies with him.
I had asked Matchstick to bring his brushes so that maybe he & I could stripe something.
Match brought some colors & brushes & so did I. He also brought a few bowling pins to stripe on. He started striping a friends guitar & then we sat down & started on the pins. Coop then showed up. That was an awesome experience to be striping with those two! Coop makes it look so easy!
Anyways, we striped for a few hours on the pins. Matchstick did 2 of them & Coop & I did 1 each. I will never forget that day! Was a highlight of a great Councils week for me!
Here's a link to a club member's CofC pictures over on Facebook. Enjoy! Brad
