What is the best method to hang a privacy curtain behind my front seats if I plan on camping in the van? I have a hightop 1988 Dodge B250 Conversion van. I do not want to do anything that will damage the headliner/interior as it's in mint condition. Thanks

They make a curtain rod holder, a clip N angled spacer.

I found this set up in a van I stripped in my Bone Yard.

Thanks, looks like that is screwed in. Wonder if I can use that without screws as I do not want to drill into the mint interior. Took me a long time to find my time capsule van. I am not even replacing that tube TV, gonna get a converter to use it lol

I parted a van and found those exact rod hangers that friske1 posted. I kept them but I did not use them for the same reason you stated. You can have em if you want em.

Instead I made a hanging system out of scrap sheet aluminum, kind of a crushed "L" shaped clip that tucks up and over the plastic interior trim then has a vertical leg with a narrow angled slot to accept a screw. The clips stay in with no screws and the rod is easily removable. Girlfriend sewed curtains.

Me and fotos aren't too good here but pm your email address and I will send you a foto or two.

You could probably use one of the old school spring loaded shower curtain rod holders too. They usually have rubber caps on the end to prevent paint damage in your bathroom.

If you're intent on using the brackets mentioned above, a good double sided tape should work. Then if you ever want to remove the brackets, Goo Gone should make quick work of the tape residue.

Sent a message, thanks! Also thanks for the offer, I really would like to avoid putting holes in the van if I can. I am looking at building an extension as well for my rear bench to allow me more sleeping space as it's only two sections right now.

Thanks, the curtain rod is my backup plan right now. Thinking either of using paracord or depending on how 1959's pictures look, may try that method and just buy the blackout material itself cause it's lightweight

Unless you need to stealth camp a windshield cover for a class c motorhome works well. The one we use on our GMC has screens with roll-up covers for the window areas. It also allows us to rotate and use the passenger seat which makes a huge difference.

Pete... We have a curtain that has a light weight rod and we paid about $5 for the rod set up.

Here is a similar one... https://www.walmart.com/ip/Mainstays-48-84-Adjustable-Sash-Curtain-Rod/42489119

Since we knew that our fiberglass top had firing strips in it we hung the rod hangers from the ceiling. Also, the four total screw holes needed are so minimal and do not go all the way through the roof because we have the firing strips and the ceiling board (which in our case is about 1/4").

We also have an old closet rod that sits across the front kind of where your tv and two doors are located. When we are in the mood we can drape it from the rod it hangs on over that other one and that allows it to be behind the seats (because ours turn like Catfish's do).

When our curtain was just the old sheet we had hemmed the rod worked very well. We've since made it heavier with a backing of solar material and it still works but we've got to be more prudent in not pulling down when moving it from side to side (no big deal and we've already adjusted).

We also have an rv window shield that easily and quickly hooks onto the visors and blocks the windshield and both passenger and driver's windows as well as reflectix cut to fit all three, as well.

Since we live in our vehicle full-time we have learned that just a privacy curtain was not doing us any favors when it came to heat / cold. There is a huge difference in temperature from front to backside of the curtain when we pull it and even more so when we apply all three options together.

Anyway, hope something in there helped.

Yes I use this for over night camping but for just stopping for a hr or so I pull the curtain.

I was over at the drag strip for 2 days.

Does it cover the driver and passenger windows too? This is on the inside correct, because the outside covers are easy for someone to walk up and lift. Do you have a link to what you are describing? Thanks so much. I was tempted to possibly make my own reflectix driver/passenger window covers and use material to cover them and them magnets to attach.

No it's outside like frscke's. Research windshield covers for class c RV's.
It's heavy vinyl, wraps around from one front door to the other covering the windshield. We never camp anywhere except campgrounds and we've never had anyone bother us. Been using this type for years.
Like I said if you were camping in the city, at a Walmart or otherwise urban boondocking then an inside screen is best of course. But we like this type because it blocks some of the heat and cold and gives more room inside.
Different models for different year and brand vans. The ones for older models are getting harder to find in stores.
Vanners will sometimes make there own out of tarp or tent material.

ADCO makes a good one:
