Affordable sound Deadening, Radiant Heat & Sound Proofing. - May 10th 2017 4:41 am
So I have been doing tons of research for a while before I decided to do this to my new van. I just recently found materials that I think are great. Both for Sound Deadening and Sound Proofing with Radiant Heat Insulation as well.
I did the entire roof of my van with 50 sq ft of Noico 50 mil. Yes I covered pretty much most of the roof besides the roof beam. The way a sound deadener works as it really only needs to cover 25% of a panel. Basically giving it more weight so it doesnt vibrate as much, thus deadening the panel. Usually you would only use it on flat areas that dont have a ridgid spot cutting down on panel vibrations. But I used it pretty much between each rail. I just ordered more to do the walls of my van. And I am using the Noico 80 mil for the front doors and wheel well areas front and back.
And for the floor, Im going to be putting down mass loaded vinyl with a closed cell foam. Best and cheapest price I could find for this product. http://www.yahoosoundproofing.com/compositevinyl.html
Also you will need a Roller for the stuff, dont try doing it by hand. its worth the extra $7

Then as you can see I applied a thick closed cell foam material that is self adhesive on one side and foil reinforced on the back side. Here is the link for this. It took 4 rolls to do my roof.
