Hello, Im currently rewiring my 78 G10 chevy. The previous owner had aftermarket gauges installed (poorly) Im installing a factory gauge cluster. Curious to know if anyone out there has the schematics for the 16 pin terminal that connects into the gauge cluster. Or if anyone knows of a way to decode the circuit board to get the correct terminal location. Thanks much

Did the previous owner cut the wiring harnesses out too? If that's the case, the easiest thing to do would be to find another 78-ish parts van and grab the matching harnesses. I just too a wiring out of the 71-77 clip I'm tearing apart, but I'm betting that's different from your 78 since the gauges are different.

Yeah, they cut the whole pigtail connector out and added some cheap aftermarket gauges. I'm sure I'll end up having to pull one. Haven't been having any luck finding the right year though.

I have the same cluster on my '80.
I did a quick trace of the circuits from the pin-out for the connector on the back of the cluster then made this messy attempt to label them. Some of the labels are incomplete since I was just trying track down lighting issues. I haven't double checked this so proceed with caution but maybe it will help

I used a pencil to keep my eye on the circuit and followed them from beginning to end, then scrawled what I found on the paper

Thank you, vaNsquared this helps a lot! L turn signal is terminal 1 on the connector correct?

No problem, anytime!

Yes, if you're looking the connector socket from the back of the cluster like you have in your photo, and numbering them left to right, top to bottom smile

I can probably explain better with a photo or two haha.
It's the straightened light blue wire.

This is out of an '81 Vandura with the same cluster so the colors should be the same

Hi VaNsquared,
Just reading your responses made me wonder if its possible to buy the printed circuit boards? Mines an `80 Chevy Shorty. I`ve repaired it and so far so good but always in the back of my mind, will it fail one night?

Thanks VaNsquared!
Sorry for the delayed response, been busy! Got everything dialed in and working properly.

Hey Matman, I've searched for them new but haven't been able to find any. I do have a couple extra in really nice shape if your printed circuit board is the same as a 78.
