No really, what do they do? I see them all the time but my van doesn't have them and I'm not noticing anything weird happening when I close my doors.

I see them more on vans that dont have the nylon sleeved door pins. What they do... beyond me.

They're called a protector, from what I gather they prevent your clothes from getting snagged on the door striker bolt as you're getting in or out.

They've fallen off mine and they don't sell them new anymore.

That explains it, I guess! I'm not looking for them, I just wasn't sure what the heck they were for.

I dont have them & have ripped the pockets on 2 pr of shorts....now we know ! lol

My '95 had them. I agree with Gladiator...I think they are there to protect you clothes.

I was told they are installed to reduce wind noise. I don't know. I only know one guy who still has them on his van.

My '95 has them, always thought it was block stuff from getting into the latch mechanism or something.

Yeah, that seems more likely than reducing wind noise.
