hey guys,
Getting ready to rebuild my suspension and brakes on my 89 G10.
It has 198,000 miles on it and its time.... smile I see the holes on the lower control arms and frame for a factor sway bar but the van has no front sway bar at all. Did these vans have them as an option or maybe they just came on g20s and g30s? what about rear sway bars?
I want to add them as my van is a keeper and I think they will help out the handling. Anybody tried the aftermarket ones?

POSSIBILTY that truck bars will fit.

yeah. I heard that the g series vans and the C series trucks share the same suspension but I heard that the G vans have a wider track than the C trucks.
I'm going to be running the tubular upper and lower control arms and wilwood 4 wheel disc. Trying to get info on these G vans is a pain in the Butt. I know the arms are the same as C10 and the same for the brakes but wildwood could not give me an answer. I had to figure that out by dimensions.
thanks !

Hellwig and ADDCO made sway bars for G vans.

Went to the pick and pull this morning. The first G20 I looked at had a nice front sway bar. Even the bushings were good ! Brackets and all.... 35 bucks... love these vans !

revisiting an old thread i have a 77 G10 had did not come with a sway bar. my frame and lower control arms have holes to mount it.

the right side frame mount bolts are spaced far away compared to the left. also the left side of the frame curves up a bit at the sway bar.

the right side of the frame is flat. i read on another thread there is a different type of bracket needed for the earlier vans.

has anyone fabricated these? any aftermarket option? i want to grab the sway bar but its useless to me if i cant mount it.

thanks
