Is there a shelf life for wax. I only wax the van twice a year, so a can goes a long way. Just emptied the carnauba wax I use that was 11 years old, was going to order another can, and found a new, unopened in my basement. Been stored in a heated basement all these years, not in the garage where there would be freezing. I opened it up and the wax appears to be a little dry looking. I don't know if some of the additives could possibly evaporate or dissolve.

They can last a while as long as they're stored like how you had your can stored.

A little dryness is normal, see if you can get the wax to melt into the pad by working the pad into the wax in a tight circular motion, if it's still too dry you can try spritzing a little quick detailer or water on it to soften it up.
