Yes KeVan. Hate to see the van from your avatar go, but seems like a good deal for someone.

I originally wanted a '70s/'80s Dodge van but have lately been leaning toward a "70s/'80s Chevy or GMC and kinda ready for a change. However I'm having mixed feelings about selling the Ford. I do like it and have owned it for nearly 9 years now and have put a lot of money into it, way more than it's priced at. There was a guy interested in it last year to use for his D'Jay business but had to check with his wife. I never heard from him again.

I'd also like to have a '70s "land yacht," but there is only so much room and dollars to go around.

Keep it ! I have two 1990 fords and I love them. Its hard to find a nice one. EFI, OBD 1 they are simple to maintain and parts are cheap.

Yeah. Late 80s Fords are a great buy, especially if they are in good condition. I really like my 89 E150, but, honestly, I have spent almost eight years and I don't know how many thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours geting it all fixed up. And I still haven't done the cosmetics. Your van is very nice, and has a great drivetrain and option package. I would keep it if I were you.

Interesting. I am abig guy, and I love Dodges. I have tried mid Dodges and late Dodges and just couldn't get enough room for my feet. Plus the entry was always awkward. That is why I went to a Ford. Easiest entry, lots of room for my feet and big butt.

Thanks to everyone for all of the responses.

Had a guy look at it today, but he didn't want to spend that much and have fix the king pins and such. It is far from perfect, not sure what he expected for under $3k. I told him it sounded like he needed to buy a much newer van. I'm leaning toward keeping it now anyway.

If you are a big guy, my vote goes to the 75+ Ford van for ease of getting in and out and the most hip and foot room for the driver.

I think you are making a good move keeping your van.

I've decided to keep it, just need to get it out more. I'm hoping to make it to the Van Nationals July 28th, it's around 85 miles from were I live, but I've got some front suspension repairs to do first.

Completely agree. I've never kept a Dodge van for long, no foot room and crowded cab.

Re: 1987 Ford E150 $2,900 Danville IL - June 12th 2018 8:27 pm

Yay! You won't regret keeping it. You have a really good start on the van already and it won't take much to make it a nice cruiser. As far as the front suspension goes, try finding a shop that works on big semi trucks. They still deal with kingpins on a regular basis. A few years back I had the kingpins replaced on my89 E150 and ended up having to go to such a shop. Unfortunately, my axle beams were too worn out to have new kingpins pressed in, and I went through six junkyard axles before I found a pair that the shop said could be reused. The good news is that the axles interchange from 75-91.

Good luck and keep us posted!
