Searched the forums but can't find any info....
My '85 G10 console has a cigarette lighter but when I take off the console there is no wire or plug connected to it and I can't find anything when fishing around in the dash under the radio, etc. Can someone tell me what it should look like and maybe the wire color?

I assume it's a 12V like in modern vehicles and I can plug in a phone charger if I can get it re-connected?

GM Dog,

2 wires, orange and black, together, about a foot long, with a round plug that slips over the socket of the rear of the lighter.

Looks like about 14 gauge wire, and yep, 12 volts.

Welcome to the site Sunnydog!

Thanks Wedgy! If I find those wires and the plug isn't on them for some reason do you know if they are still available new? or should I be looking around at my local boneyard for one?

You are very welcome. I'd think maybe that would be a common part used on the GM trucks too. So, if not from a Van, a pickup truck donor may work as well. Beauty of Chevy design. Good hunting!
