Has anybody swapped a C4 to an AOD in a mid ford? If so, other than probably a new drive shaft, what else will I need to do? If it must be done, I'm not above using a floor shifter.

That's a great question and definitely something I would like to know more about.

When searching online, I get a link to Facebook through the 2nd Gen Econoline Page. I can read but I don't have a Facebook. My cousin posts on there occasionally, but he's been MIA lately. Anyway.

Here is a link that is mentioned about swapping to a '71 Mustang. There is a lot of good information here about the swap. Lokar has the cables needed and apparently it can be a straightforward swap if you can get everything needed in one go from a parts van/car/truck and not have to piece it together over time.

Hope this helps.

I just found some info on this, it looks like Monster Transmission has a whole kit that includes transmission, torque converter, TV cable, trans cooler and pretty much everything else you'll need. The one I was looking at was about $1800 which isn't bad, considering Advance is selling remans for $1500 with no converter. Apparently every transmission from Monster is made per order specifically for your vehicle.

I'm just waiting for the catch where it's a grand more for an Econoline lol
