New to the board, new to vanning.

Just picked up this little jewel after years of searching for the right van at the right time. I was really looking for a high end van with some history/provenance behind it but I have had zero luck with that for the last 5 years or so. This one just happened to come up for sale in a group I follow so I snagged it up.

One owner, 67k original miles, 360/727, been in a barn/storage for years. Last window registration sticker shows 6/1980.

Has one area of rust that I have found and it's in the driver's side rocker about center of the rocker. Rust free with original paint otherwise. Paint is thin in areas due to someone getting carried away with compound I believe. Van is FILTHY inside and out and needs all of the belts, hoses, etc. It has a Vantrekk grill that I have already removed and they REALLY butchered the headlight area to get the headlights to fit. I will fix that sheetmetal and move on (looking for old fenders for sheetmetal parts but will make it if I have to). Gonna put a 73 grill in it because I like them better.

Apologies for the winded post. Enjoy some pics now smile

Welcome! Nice lookin Dodge! I had a '72 B200 "Royal Sportsman" several years ago. It was a great running van...not sure why I sold it.

Bravo on removing that Vantrek grille...hideous piece of kit IMHO.

Thanks all.

Learned yesterday that the wheel flares are plastic. Planning on replacing anyway, just thought it interesting that they were plastic since they have supposedly been on the van since 77.

Radio seems to actually all work too except my "breaker 1 9" has produced no results yet.

Been trying for a week now to find some vintage wheels I like. Nothing yet. Looking for 15x10 and 15x8's in a turbine or slot if anyone knows of any. I like the Cragars but I'm not sure if it's the look I'm after on this particular van.

is there an Antenna for the CB on there? one pic looks like it may have a center mast on the roof, but hard to tell. Run to Walmart and but a cheap Antenna to thread to the radio and see if that helps, sometimes the old antennas just quit.... you really don't want to hit the mic without a load on there, though.

if you know the radio is absolutely working and you aren't hitting anybody on 19, try some other channels.

-19 is always the "go to", but 17 is actually for North-South Traffic and 19 is for East-West traffic.
-Lots of overflow goes to 21-28 just to stay off 19 to have a convo.
-Jeepers and 4WD folks like to hit channel 4.
-Vanners tend to hit Channel 2 (If you have to ask...)
-Channel 6 is the superbowl, where you will catch a bunch of hooting and hollering from the guys running massive wattage or shooting skip. LOL.

The CB airwaves are pretty dead these days. I can run 100's of miles here on the SE coast without hitting any legit CBers actively talking to each other, but certain localities they are out there talking...logging trucks and guys at shipping docks are common. SE VA has pretty active airwaves.

It does have an antenna and it is connected to the radio. I get squelch but that's about it. I haven't done much with it, I just verified the antenna was connected and keyed it up. That's pretty far down my list of things to get done right now.
