I’m looking for some assistance on my van something is wrong and is causing the van to go into limp mode. Abs light is on. When the problem first occurred I was backing out my driveway and the van died. I found that the trans fuse was blown. Tried the replacing fuses all it would do was blow as soon as I clicked the key on. I then wiggled my wires and then it wouldn’t blow a fuse. I took off all the wiring loom and tape. No visible breaks in the line. I re taped and put wires back and now fuse doesn’t blow but anti lock light is on. Speedo won’t work and oil pressure gage doesn’t work. I replaced the speed sensors and the oil pressure sensor! That fixed the issue no lights on dash and all gears work no limp mode. Park it after the day and go out the next day and boom abs light no oil pressure sensing. And now the temperature sensor is reading like the thermostat is not functional letting the engine overheat. The codes that came up was 33, 81, 82. I re traced the wiring again and found that the rear speed sensors 2 wires at the plug had been touching bare copper the whole time. Fixed the short? Van still has abs light and same problems. Thought maybe the wires caused the sensor to fry so I replaced it again and same problems? I put in a new transmission about a thousand miles ago and worked perfect the previous owner did some funky stuff with the wiring. I need some tips or help anybody had these problems before etc?

Sadly at this point it's a total crap shoot as to what could be causing all of that mess, but you're on the right track with chasing the wires and testing things. Hopefully you'll get it sorted soon. Also, this is in the Dodge section of the forums, so a moderator will eventually move it, just so you know where it went if you have a hard time finding the thread.

The only way to fix something like this is to hunt it down the way you're doing.

OBD code 33 indicates that the Mass Air Flow sensor is reporting more air is entering the engine than makes sense based on RPM and TPS.
Codes 81 and 82 are for the 2-3 and 1-2 shift solenoids... Indicating that they either stayed on or off after they were told to change states.

Whatever caused the van to die backing out of your driveway likely set that 33.
The 81 and 82 are probably due to whatever short was blowing the transmission fuse.

I don't know what else to say about it.
I once found an abraded wire that was causing a random misfire code on a 1996 Camaro (Code read as failed camshaft position sensor).
I found a wire shorting to the inner door skin on a 1994 F-150 that was causing ghost locks.
But in your case, since the problems aren't as isolated, it might be harder to find the problem.

I have seen some vehicles act pretty crazy when they've got an issue with a ground strap or battery ground.
That can cause the computer to get all kinds of ghosts.

Well just an update I got the van drivable no limp mode, put in a coolant sensor and thermostat with new gasket for temp problem no diff inch in the gauge used the temp gun not overheating... gonna park it for a while till I get my dough right for this 4x4 Cummins truck I will body swap... next time I tweak on it I will repost
