Ok, here is what I am thinking-
We read here on the forums or hear stories about Vanners stepping up and helping other Vanners. Sometimes these Vanners in need are helped by others that they haven't met yet. Its just the vanner way!!!!...
If a Vanner has recently helped you in any way then here's your chance to give them a big online "Thank You". Could be a Vanner express, directions, a beer, parts, mechanical , whatever your thankful for.
Lets show all the new comers to this site what Vannin is all about.
I would like to start---
That's a good idea Kevin.
There have many times that Gloworm has helped a vanner from time to time but only 2 come in mind right now - installing a water pump in Tommy Trucker's van at the NY Natz & replacing a fan belt on Steven Damnit's van a the Kansas Nats (which we almost missed running on the track because of it).
Gloworm always has his big tool box with us & we take a 5 gal container of water for making coffee & we do empty it till we get home incase it's needed for radiators on the way home.
Dee Jaye
I have been working on my 78 Chevy and its a never ending story. This weekend it was time to do the trailer hitch and wiring. And for the guys and gals who know me, mechanical stuff is not my cup of tea. (i suck at it)(lol)...
So my long time Vanner buddy/brother in law Dan came over to assist me. The hitch was a pain in the butt but its done. The wiring wasnt easy either but Dan got it done!,,,so
THANKS DAN FOR ALL YOU DID!!!, You are a 100% Vanner and have my vote for Vanner of the day....
Great Idea
Stan, SF60 out of southern Buffalo area was gracious enough to hook me up with two very rust free cargo van sides. not to mention a slew of other parts off a 79 4x4 van. granted, they were cutting this beast up anyways, but i never expected them for free.. I still have a bunch of front end metal parts out there to pick up and when i do, I am treating Stan and his buddy dave i think his name is, to dinner for helping me cut these suckers off.. then cutting me out some floor sections later on after i discovered all the floor rust. I'd bring them an entire beer truck if i could. In my life, i had all but given up on meeting people like that utill i came here and the place is full of them. As i've said before and numerous times via phone, etc, THANK YOU STAN and company for the panels and the help in removing them, etc.. Was an incredible first impression on what vanners are like.
nothing real big but, thanks to everyone for the huge welcome and all the info in just the 2 days i been here
well a lot of you have heard my story and i still cant thank them
at ff last year i blew my motor an hour away from there and i got towed in i was met by Susie and she told me where to drop it and found doc from ri they pulled me away from my van and said have a good time we will take care of that tomorrow
the next day i had a ton of people helping me but there was no way it was going to get fixed there so this kid sorry i forgot your name drove me to get a you haul trailer and box truck that day and latter on the 50 50 was being pulled i was hoping so much to get it but nope some other guy did with 500 tickets won lol and then 10 min latter Nate gave me all the winnings you
and then Sunday on the way home Mikey midnight drove with me and i could only go 55 if i when any faster the trailer fished tailed
it was a long 6 hour drive at 55 and he stayed with me
so i want to thank every one at ff and Mikey and especial Nate
I want to Thank Dave ASTRO for giving everyone a chance to talk with others about Vanning and the misc talk the comes with it.
Hats Off to ASTRO
Thanks Dave!!!
See now thats why I started this topic......I was getting tired of all the "he said she said" BS.....We are Vanners and there is 98% good in all of us...the other 2% is for the Vanners we havent met yet......
I love Vannin and this site.......
ya dave thank you so much
Good memories Silly Vanner! Glad you made it to Flamingo Fest last year--this year you won't know what to do without all that Drama!!
And thanks Dave!
We may disagree on occasion, but we all know what we are capable of and that is so much more important!!
ya i would like to thank dave frist for this site next boot for all the help and care and cloudy to for his help to these are true vanners in my eyes
Ours is Moondoggie and Donnie stopping to help us with a tire blow out on the way to Midwest last year. We were within 20 miles of the eVANt probably, but our jack wouldn't get under to do it's job. When the 'Ohio Toons' showed up--it just got funny! In the end, Moondoggie seemed very pleased to find a usable jack in his VAN!! I just really can't type it here as it was there--but so Vanneresque in style was the rescue, we had help coming to us from the eVANt also, we just couldn't be upset about it--CowVan was fine too!
So thanks to all those that helped us on that day!
Ugly Kid Joe, Dale, Ed, Vince, Moondoggie, Donnie and our passenger Sara, who says that is why she can't handle a Custom Van and she'll stick with theirs!! hee hee
And to all of you that will stop for, or go out to help others in the future!
Only vanners can turn a catastophe into a party. Wish I got there earlier so I could have joined the party Suzie. That is one of those things that you just can't explain to someone that has never been there. Makes no sense at all LOL
That's what I'm talkin' about!! Congrats to all you Vanners
for being Vanners! and thanks to Dave for this site! Cudo's to All!!

With " Rampant Acts of Vannerism " all over the place, it would be hard to pick a single one....but Hey...its what we do...
THANKS DAN FOR ALL YOU DID!!!, You are a 100% Vanner and have my vote for Vanner of the day....
No problem Kev, glad we got it all done and u can go vannin in a 'Real' van now
I had a feeling you were ganna say that Dan.
...been Vannin in the mini-van for so long now I almost forgot how fun it is to drive the full size......
kOoL thread, and some great stories... Thanks to all...
kOoL thread, and some great stories... Thanks to all...
Thats why I started it, I figured we could show the new vanning.com members what its like to be a Vanner....We all help each other without thinking twice........

not the place for this comment, but oooooh man do i love that blues traveler van.......
Thank you! I was hoping to see your van at the Nats, maybe next year.
I want to thank all of you guys for making this site a success.
without all of you, this site would have been gone a long time ago.
Fun, friends, and frivolity for 35 years...thanks!
Roger in our drive now doing what he does best - Working on someone else's van!
Vanners are Vanners and after reading through all the posts on this thread I am just about weeping ... tears are rolling down my face ...
Just joking..
This is a good Idea and just might take off somehow. It might be better for the month, If we do one every day we will run out of vanners pretty quick. and Thanks to Astro we can keep up with each other every day . It's the next best thing to being at an actual event.
I don't have to explain why I'm a vanner
For those that understand, No expliation is necessary
For those that don't, No expliation is possible!
AKA The vanners creed
Due my recent divorse, I have to arrange all the rooms etc at home. Kids are at my house every other week, those weeks without them are BAD! Miss them much, even they are so close, 2 miles away.
I'd like to thank big time vanners here in Finland;
they are arriving today (Friday 21st Aug) to help me with furniture, cleaning etc. Hansu, Jarkka, Mikko(a.k.a Nadia),Anna, Netta, Johanna, Outi, Henri, Petri, Olli and Carita.
And vice versa; Saturday I will do maintenance for Carita's Astro.
Today we have a great happening at my house, with my family. Vanner family. Great to have so dear friends and family members. And ofcourse "few" cold ones, serious sauna session, laughning, good food, listening music... Like house warming party.
VAN ON!
-Pex-
PS. If life gives a slap to your face, just head your nose to the wind and laugh! Things are going to be better finally.
I'd like to post a hearty thank-you to Dan - Blues Traveler, for going to great lengths to help me solve a mystery relating to my recent upgrade to a washer reservoir with level sensor, which didn't fit quite right on my radiator support. He went so far as to pull parts off of his van and send me tons of pictures - an awesome and very generous thing to do. My hat's off to you Dan, thanks again!
Clear skies!
Hey ... We all do what we can, for everyone we can, so We don't really need a medal for anything, But it is a nice suprise to say hey this guy did this or she did that if it an outstanding effort. Nothing is wrong with that
Wanted to Thank Chris Munz for putting off his own To-Do list to Help me out with my To-Do list and all the problems that cam along with it.
Munz is A true Vanner and A true friend and it don't go unnoticed.
THANKS AGAIN
Munz
Thank you,
Buddy boy no problem. Helping a friend and working on a van, does it get any better? All in a days work well maybe 2 days maybe even 3 LOL. Plus the work we did will be viewed and used by other vanners in the near future so its a win win for everybody!!
No problem Ram, sorry it took so long, good luck with the washer tank project.

Hey does that mean you are coming to my house next to help get the roof lowered on my Early?
Why, Yes It Does!! I will definitely be stopping by to see it at least. Seriously Ken if you need a hand holding panels or something like that don't hesitate to ask. I just ran into an old vanner who has a straight chopped early dodge and he's looking to get back into the vanning scene. He might go to Keystone so he can probably be a fountain of info for you. Ill send a pic of his van, your gonna love this!!!!
Hey Munz.
POST it. We ALL love
!
Hey Josh,
Im not sure how to do that but when I have time Ill read the picture posting link. I would also like to ask this guy first before I blast his van all over the place.
That's ALL awesome buddy. I got the picture and I will post it on Monday. I don't think I can do it from here. Funny it looks a lot like the one Mike found.
We'll see you at Keystone.
Here it is. I didn't think I knew my password
That IS cooooool. Mean lookin' I like it. Dig the 60 series MT's. Yum.
All I can say is WE WANT MORE!!!!!
Lets get this thread Back on Topic.
I big hats off to performance and any others for getting the grounds cleaned up this weekend for everyone headed to Keystone. A special Thanks to Dimples for keeping the grounds open for anyone who wanted to go up ealy.. I will be there Thursday Night.
YOU the MAN
Oops, sorry all. I thought this was Munz's thread or I wouldn't have encouraged the pic....

Gloworm was the champion again today. Left Institution & 45 min later Bugman's alternator caught fire & barely got to an off ramp before it shut down. 2 hours later after having to go about 20 miles to an Advance Auto, changed the alternater, we finally got on the road again.
Then ran into construction (imagine that)
Should have been home by 3 PM - got home at 6 - fun fun fun
Good thing you guys waited for Bugman. Glad it all worked out Ok!
This shout out goes to Mark from Indiana (Kermit)
I was interested in a early Chevy van in Indiana. To far from New Jersey to drop everything and run.
So I put the call out Friday night for a IN. vanner to help me out.
Not three hours later he called me up to tell me he would go and check the van out for me first thing in the morning.
When I offered some compensation to him, he would not hear of it.
It's to bad that the owner sold the van from from under me, or maybe it wasn't ment to be.
But the silver lineing is still there...
Mark is cool. I only got to meet him once when he rode a bus all the way to MD to buy my A-108. He drove it all the way back to Ohio. He has a funny story about that...maybe not too funny at the time, but ask him sometime.
I would like to thank Dave (Astro) for the technical help he provided me this morning when I was having computer problems. I posted what was wrong and he replied back within several minutes. Thanks again for having such a great site.
glad I was able to help :-)
Westvan71 has really gone out of his way to help me locate some very hard to find parts for my 78 Chevy. I would like to nominate him for Vanner Of the Day award and also if it exists Vanner Of The Year Award....thanks again Westvan71
I would thank Westvan71 (Greg) for his help and efforts to find some G-10 emblems for me!
i was kind of worried that they got lost in mail, so i had to ask him yesterday about the tracking# for the package. Well i have to change the name and words from the movie, field of dreams "if you build it, they will come". new title and words, piece of dreams, "if you ask, they will come".
no reason to say that they popped up in my snailmail box today
Thanks Greg!
p.s. this will be my last post until i sells my 2 69 vans, because that is now my official numbers in here
hmmm. well ofcourse this isn't my last post, but kind of cool numbers though!
Kaare
Shucks, now I'm blushed in face - lol! Thanks for nice comments on me, I just help out to people when there's a need.
as most of you know, 2011 has not been good for me, but thanks to vanner kindness, I have been able to attend a couple things. First, on New Years Eve, my work van puked an alternator. Luckily I was close to the Marshalls' hometown, and I have AAA. The tow truck took me direct to the party, and in the morning, at 6 degrees, Jerry pulled the alternator, and Henry from CITA called a guy who opened his shop and put brushes in, saving me a hundred bucks or more.
More recently, through the magic of carpooling and the generosity of some really good friends, I was able to attend Council of Councils. Last weekend, I went to Detroit with our newest members Gary and Michelle, used a pass from Woody, and stayed at Greg's. Another low budget weekend, and all thanks to vanner friends!
I want to say a big thank you to all the ones who offered their help during this situation with our daughter. From Uncle Fester offering words of encouragement. Mugsy who if possible would have driven down and gotten her to Susie. For Susie who would have driven her to Erie for us. To Eddie G who would have picked her up and driven her part way home. And now to Doug and Lind aka Phoenix and Lady Phoenix. Linda picked her up at the motel and drove her to the bus terminal and stayed with her until she was on the bus. Thank you so much Linda for doing this. She is on the bus now and heading home. Thanks everyone for their support in this.
Glad to hear your girl is on her way home.
just testing. i uploaded a new avatar and need to test to see if it worked.

we do have a test forum for that kinda thing ;)
Big shout out to Reed,he and his brother were over Saturday with a LOAD of parts an pieces.I had a few things going back for Reeds van and a vanner express for BlackStallion but not near as much as he brought over,I've either got to get busy or pickup another van for storage space
The game is afoot Watson,I must get ahead on the swap as Good Guy Reed won't except money, muuhahaha!
Now, to be fair, I took a load of parts up to SixShot AFTER he brought me a transmission, a dash board, and a complete A/C system, all for no charge! That's pretty cool in my book!
Another big shout out to Reed, who not only graciously donated much-needed van furniture for JJ's recovery, but delivered it 90 miles (I think) free of charge!
This post is for all vanners who sent me kind words.
For those that were not aware, I am mourning the loss of my dear aunt Rose.
Even though I am not that close with some of you, You still sent me your condolences. For that I am thankful.
I want to express my gratitude to my club for attending the wake, even though you never met the woman.
Just another reason vanners are better then people.
Charlie, Sorry for your loss man...wish I lived closer to ya buddy
So sorry for your loss Charlie
Sorry for your loss buddy! I didn't know. We laid Debbie's Grandfather to rest yesterday as well.
Sorry for your loss Charlie and Ken and Deb as well...

As if we didn't already know Luna was the best.
Thanks for the patches Luna!
I'm digging up this old thread up for a very worthy cause.
This shout out goes to Willie Still of the Central Connecticut Coachmen.
He is still on the mend from his operation and will make a full recovery.
But will not be able to attend the nationals this year.
So he donated his pre-reg to me!
Thank you so much my brother. I wish you a speedy recovery!
Sweet! Nuttin' wrong with that!
Cool,Get well soon Willie
Cool,Get well soon Willie
I may be a newbie here as well as in the vannin world but I feel the family warmth from across the globe with you guys, I just hope it's not disfunctional much like my family is HAHA, I haven't even purchased my van yet (waiting for title) and have been working out stuff to do to it already, maps and plans to move cross country and also printed out the travelers aid list and have had nothing but good people step right up and say "yeah, let me know when you get here, I'll show around town, will have a few beers and a few laughs". You guys are doing such a great job that I will do my best to keep my van on the road and make it to nats and car shows and truckin's and I really hope to meet as many of you as possible just to share a few laughs and info about our lives and lives as vanners. Thanks for being the best friends I've never met! YET
I second that, I've only been on this forum a short while and I am overjoyed at how much comradeship there is and welcoming spirits to this great life of Vannin. To think I spent 40,000 miles a year eating and sleeping in my Dodge as I went show to show for the past 11 years and never found this great forum until now when my van is being reborn.
Vanners are better than people
I am two or three weeks late with this one but I have to salute Reed, who made his second parts donation to Junkyard Jitters.
This time, it was a gold anodized Top Line Dodge roof Rack
and a pair of Lebaron(?) Leather bucket seats with 6-way power seat tracks (all functional/complete,etc).
I haven't had a chance to install them yet, but did get to set them up in the driveway and made my neighbors crazy after gettin' liquored-up and doing my best Ricardo Montalban impersonation, braging to 'em all about how the only real van on the street will soon be providing me the luxury and comfort of thickly cushioned contour-seats covered in rich corinthian leather.
Aw shucks, thanks! You actually helped me out by getting that stuff out of my storage unit! I'm happy o help and happy that these parts will be used instead of collect dust.
Just wanted to throw a big thank you to ALL of you. Not only have you made me feel welcome here but I'm learning about stuff I didn't even know was going on. Since purchasing my camper van I have been on RV/ van dweller forums and well . . . they don't seem to get my somewhat crass sense of humor. I'm getting ready to undertake some big changes in my life by giving up my brick and stick house to live full-time in the van and it's nice to know there's a community here that I can reach out to.
I'm sure I'll show up at some of the gatherings and it's nice to have a schedule I can print out to keep with me since I've tagged my van historic which means under MD laws that I can only technically drive the van on weekends or for events. It seems like there is ALWAYS a van related event going on somewhere.
So, again, thank you and I look forward to meeting the lot of you somewhere down the road.
Spring Thaw is coming up at the end of April. Check out the Current Evants section.
This is just the type of people Vanners are Cherry. We look out for each other and help each other when we can.
Oh and don't sweat the Historic plates. I've been driving old Dodge vans for years with Historic plates and the cops never bothered me. Of course I don't drive like a nut either so that helps.

Well those Md laws are only for people who actually follow written laws.....
you have to be doing something really bad with your van before the MD police will site you for driving your van too much.(like street racing with it).......
.........Wookee
Vanners are better than people!
I think Kim from Niagara Vans, WNY belongs here....during a convoy to the Nats, when a member let his dog out for a pee break, it took off at a dead run unexpectedly....Kim kicked off her flip flops and was in hot pursuit, despite her own minor physical issue....The problem was hot pavement in 100 degree July sun prompted the great escape, and captured the prize....
Kim herself suffered second degree burns on her foot and limped around for the week at the Natz as a result of her caring nature.....

I'd like to give a shout out to Joe "Stormcloud" Scott for saving Henry Weber's Dodge A-100 from the crusher.
Apparently Henry moved into a new house and when he went back to get his van, it was gone...stolen. Either Joe or Josh Souders posted pictures on Facebook of a blue A-100 in line to be crushed at a local junkyard in NJ. Superbeast brought up the fact that it looked like Henry Weber's van. I went onto Henry's page and lo and behold it was his van. I "tagged" him on the pictures and he was basically pleading for someone to get his van back as it had been stolen.
Stormcloud went out with a trailer and saved the van!
Facebook isn't so useless after all.
Wow...what great news Nate.
Vanners helping others on projects?good luck finding that in nor cal unless you got cash or 420..ca has become so materialistic...they only care about weed & money..sicking..really..

Not like that down here in San Diego.... you need to move out of the triangle.
Yea I need to get out of this area..should of never bought a house here..it does have good bass fishing though,so that helps pass the time.
Hey crusing, it's all good. Fishins' good here too, come on down! A great many cool people near and far here ready to help. So many have reached out to welcome me and new vanners here every day. The help I received so far from the vanners I have met here has been awesome. The Family here at Vannin shares a strong bond. A testament to this is the sheer volume and quality of automotive history and technical knowledge shared here, which is a treasure and a gift to all. Many thanks to all the Champions who pioneered then and now who share all of this with us here at Vannin. Cheers!
I couldn't have said it better...
Congrats to Wedgy
Well. I'd like to thank NH Kevin for starting this thread.
Now, all I did for the Frske1 was to be in the right place at the right time, then take action. What the Frsce1 did for me today was way, waay beyond the Call of Vanner Duty. All I did was buy a book. The Frske1 helped me to be truly Free. And I am grateful.
Thanks Frske1!
Ahhh dont believe him I didnt do any thing but put in some time towards getting rid of some things to give him peace of mind. Really I didnt do much at all.
Thank You for the book Bill.
'm not sure if he's on the forums but Eddie Dean Smith here in Burleson, TX has been a live saver for me this weekend. I was heading from Texas to Maryland this week, my health was in bad shape as was my van's. As most of you know, I travel with 6 cats and they are always a priority, especially in the heat. I met Eddie briefly at a run in Houston in January and after a brief update to Facebook about my current situation he called me and said, "What can I do?"
Needless to say, The Inn went to his driveway to be plugged in for some AC while I went to the emergency room to try to get my health back on track. This alone would be enough to make hm a champion vanner in my book but he's going above and beyond, fixing my exhaust and oil leak to make sure I can safely get to where I need to be.
Another happy ending story that would have never been possible if I hadn't found this site two years ago when my world was crumbling. While I haven't been as active here as I was when I was preparing to hit the road I am still eternally grateful for the people, connections, friends, knowledge, laughter and often times sense of peace that I feel knowing ALL of you are out there
I am glad to hear you are getting the help you need. . . .I hope some day my cash situation improves enough to meet up with you at a eVANt or just on the road if you get close to OK City. Take care of yourself and those kitties. . . .see you on the road.
Hope your feeling better Cherry, thanks for posting that great story just shows vanners are swell people.

if your ever in Fl stop by for a while. We are cat lovers here.
Congrats to him!
Hey! Cool thread! If anyone is ever in Louisville and needs a hand I have a great garage and more tools than we'll ever need. If your van can fit into a 7 foot garage door we can use my lift! My van won't fit. (sad face.)
THis sounds like a great community of awesome folks. I am glad I got this van and found this forum.
chigato gets this award today ... check the classifieds, Members for sale. But he is giving it away !
Today's award goes out to Dean, and Aaron of Rolling Death. Dean took his entire day to drive me way out of town to pick up a sad old van from Craigslist. Aaron came a long, and ended up being a vital guide through the Eastern Washington highways. Without them, the trip would have never been possible. Without Dean, our van club wouldn't even exist. He sold me my Econoline, and sold Aaron his Tradesman. He brought is together so the idea of a van club could be formed. And oh it was formed. If our club never exceeds three guys, I will be more than satisfied.
Way to go Dean and Aaron!!!
My vote for VANNER OF THE DAY, WEEK, MONTH and even YEAR goes to FRSCKE1. he saw a vanner in need ( me ) , and did what any true vanner with the means to do it would do, he came to my aid.
https://www.vanning.com/threads/ubbthreads.php/topics/679546/1I can not begin to say THANK YOU enough, I will never be able to repay this act of kindness with what it deserves. . . . The cash will get paid back, if he will let me, but the kindness, I can never pay that back enough, so again my brother, a great big

Sammy
The cash will get paid back, if he will let me,
Dont even think about it. Your Very welcome !
If you have to, to clear you mind send it to the next Vanner in need. Your heart will tell who. Pay it forward. I knew I should have done this on the QT.
THANK YOU ! I third it! Pretty cool frscke.
I fourth it!!!! with all the greed in the world today its nice to know there's a few of us that will help a fellow Vanner ,friend or any one in need.
This champion vanner awards goes to Ken aka pirate. For giving me the chance I have been waiting for to save my favorite original custom van of all time. This is one that should go down in the books. The biggest award. The most appreciation. The upmost gratitude to a dude who wants to let this van have another shot at life.
Also to Bev for helping me get in contact with ken in te first place! And to everyone who has been following this story since I started it last year.
INFINITE SURF!!!
Man!! for savin that van you should at LEAST get honorable mention Vanner Award.
Great job..great save!
do you have any new pictures of the surf what you have done
Yes are there any update pics of it.
Well, let's get the wheels on the good Karma Van rolling for 2016. Lots of good Vanners doing a lot for each other, always...
I have learned a LOT, from being a part of Vannin. It is said,
"It's not who we are, it's what we do, but there is a lot of who we are, in what we do." This is so true. About a lot of things.
Especially in Vanning, and Vanner's...
Personally, I nominate Frscke1, for all his help to me. Way to lengthy to list here. This last trip back to Van Diego to fetch Old Blue, was by far the hardest, out of the 4 trips in 2014/15.
It took everything I had to make it back, physically, monetarily.
It's a long story, I had a lot of help from others along the way.
But no one person has helped me more, than the Frscke1.
Thanks, Prezz...
In Vanning, Always.
BillR
I second the nomination! Frske1 is a great guy who has helped lots of people out, including me.
Stop it !
I didnt do anything that another vanner wouldn't have done in the same predicament.
I cant see a person in bad situation & walk the other direction. Its just not in my blood to watch & laugh.
yea I can see it
yea I can see it
I wouldnt laugh it might be you thats in a bad situation & someone else walks the other direction.
Do on to others as you would have them do on to you.
You have a lot to learn....
Not stopping to help isnt the vanner way !
I would like to nominate Catfish.
Thanks to his help and generosity my son and I have come along way with his Chevy. I also have something special for my Dodge that Catfish had vanner expressed. I will be picking it up this weekend.
Here is to Catfish.
Catfish has been alot of help to alot of vanners over many many years !
I second the motion !
I third it! Catfish is a great guy.
wow, no vanner of the day since october?
well, I'm throwing frske1 under the bus for stepping up and helping me maintain order amongst all you wholigans by being an admin, and for continually being an active member here
Yeah! I also vote for Frske1. He has helped me and many other vanners out many times.

The Frscke1,
For not charging me storage on parts...
Your good its been only a yr N a half ..vanners dont charge storage to another vanner .... just the gen public ....lol
The parts cry to me " When will my owner come back ?" lol
They can sit there till there's just a pile of rust if you want ....lol
Its only $500 worth of parts... lol
Wedgy...I hate to break this to you if you don't know but it's called Dr. Bob's Joke thread in memory of Dr. Bob.
The Frscke1,
For not charging me storage on parts...
Yea after 2 yrs Wedgy finally came to get his parts lol only had a 1/4 in of dust on them. Left with way more than he expected... good to see him. Texas is a long way.
Thanks, but I've already been under the bus, it was time for someone new to be recognized
And here is the next candidate ... going up N beyond to help another vanner find parts.
Has a track record of helping who ever ..
Actually, I think I may have a spare set because I ended up replacing my vent windows with some cool locking ones I pulled from at a junkyard and all the rubber was perfect. I'll do some digging tonight.
Our next candidate is Charlie for his effort in helping Mickey find and get his dream van home ...

Finding the van was Karma for me. I found it on CL after it was posted only 10 hours and was 1st to show up.
No doubt Charlie did me a Tremendous solid with posting my pics and has given me solid advice; "Far beyond his 32 years".
Lee has given me solid advice and has shared many moments with me on my ups and downs and was first to know of my find and shared in my excitement on the long drive home.
So many others have given me positive vibes . My Circle of faith is Strong. I appreciate you all.
Our next candidate is Charlie for his effort in helping Mickey find and get his dream van home ...

Thank you, Frscke, but I would chalk that up to Lee. All I did was help Mickey post the pics.

And our next Award goes to Lee for his effort in making Mickeys dream come true ...
I guess that LOOKSLO is the magic man for finding Mickey parts for his '74 Bowtie ...
LOOKSLO you are the bomb .... Attempting to get steering column & side vents.
Thanks in advance. Mickey
Haven't got the elusive Magic Steering Column yet; we're close !
I'll have to ad LOOKSLO to my will
Kursed is helping out as well. Like one of my old Van Clubs: " BrotherHood of Truckers" . You guys are the Best. I wish we were all closer on the map.

That's what keeps it fun brother. I've had several vanners go out of their way to help me over the years, so I like to pay it forward and keep the good karma going. Glad to help when I can with whatever I can. LOOKSLO is not too far from me, and he's a solid dude. I too wish we all lived a bit closer on the map, but y'all gonna have to move out this way 'cause I'm not heading to CA for sure. LOL!
I hear yah. My Dear ole' Dad ( Greatest Generation; joined Navy at 17 when Pearl Harbor hit ) hard working man until he couldn't at 82 years old and lived to 87. just a little back round on not the most "politically correct man" ( Didn't speak much; but when he did; he would make my Mom Blush ).
Dad's words: " California : The land of Fruits & Nuts " ! and of course his " The Sunshine Tax State " . He loved it though and settled in Los Angeles after he got out of the Navy.
Got his fill of Ca and moved to Nevada in 1982. He loved it and never left.
I hate cold & snow ! I'm sure I'll bug out down the road.
Man, the parts game is insane. It has been a total pain in the ass this week trying to find basic stuff - intake gaskets, bolt kits, tensioner pulleys, the most basic stuff you'd think was common. I had to get Charile to help me earlier this week and he's got magic search juju in his veins....!
KUDO'S Charlie 9909 ! !
