At first I thought, "What a waste of a sweet early, to make it a shop truck." But then I realized that they would be doing vanning a favor spreading the word how cool vans are by driving it around and displaying it! Perhaps they'll have it at car shows they have a booth at. I love the zoomie tubes!

Display vans are like vanning red headed step childs.Half panel, half window vans.Ma bell bough and put a bunch of those on the street. From the looks of the pictures this one looks like it was ordered buy owner from the factory like that.(No Ma Bell Green under the blue and white paint job).
You could do that back then......

I had a '69 A108 display van that was ordered new as a camper. It was built by Travco and sold as a Family Wagon.

You find them, break them up and sell them for aluminum scrap.

Those ugly things are #1 sin on the "Window Haters List"

WOW pretty amazing!

Is that cost effective though? Not to be that guy, but man, it seems like it would be so much easier to just buy a panel instead of doing all that work.

Re: cool slide show for the window haters club - January 01st 2008 7:51 pm

Just amother reason to do a van.If it has too many windows change it.If it does not have enough cut some in(not recommeded).
You left coast guys have access to more rust free vans out there than you relise.......

Hey Joe...Brian has talked to those guys and apparently they're going to be doing another van. Don't know if it's going to be another Dodge or what though.

Re: cool slide show for the window haters club - January 02nd 2008 2:49 pm

Well if they build another one I hope they do another slide show.
A nice mid Dodge with all the up dated power accessories would be the ticket........

Windows....we don't need no stinking windows........
