I recently pulled everything apart to paint my jambs, and decided it was a good time to replace the pins and bushings.

I removed part of the dash to get at the upper hinge, just the plastic cowl; but it still required quite a bit of dexterity to access.

The bottom one was easier to remove, no cutting was required, but I may have had to remove some plastic interior trim, I don’t recall exactly. Mine is a 1990, I think it’s the same but I could be wrong.

Be careful to mark their original position before removal to make lining up the door easier when you’re done.

Once they were out, I extracted the pins with a 1 1/2 lb lump hammer and a few different sizes of punches. They were carefully braced against some scrap wood blocks on a sturdy workbench.

I would take some photos, but I’m out of town for a while.
