My mechanic has been short handed, none of the shops want to touch this thing, they don't want to mess with OBD1, all say they are not equipped to deal with it, I had Firestone fix my 99 E350 when it blew the heater line, very expensive to replace it, and they didn't get it on fully, blew off and overheated again after, sure got lucky as aluminum heads usually don't survive severe overheating once, and these were done twice, not impressed with the fact Ford stopped using hose clamps on heater hoses, the plastic clips on special ends are costly, and difficult to get them to lock on in such a confined place like the vans have, built to fail, and placed in such a way it makes replacement extremely difficult, have yet to solve the vacuum issue on the AC, default to defrost under load, about to just put an electric vacuum pump on it as relocation of the canister and valve did not fix it like it was supposed to, another Ford built to fail design.

Years ago my girlfriend had this said to her ...

But her problem was a leaking Raditor overflow jug...lol

For a $12 part and 5 min to swap out he gave her a $1500 quote ...

I fixed it myself ... lol

This thing is a pile of fecal matter, wish when it blew an injector that it just caught fire and rid me of this nightmare, I miss my mid Ford, EFI was the worst thing they could create in OBD1, no one wants to work on them, for good reason, most need an ECM just to start the parts testing to locate the rest of the non functioning crap, the more you replace, the more breaks, I could have had a built 351W complete with 4 barrel carburetor and HEI ignition put in this thing for whats been spent already, and its still not done, only vehicle worse than this was my 76 Scout II, blew up 3 engines in it, along with a rewire, but I was smart enough to know when to give up then, but back then thousands of dollars worth of handicap crap wasn't necessary, too old to move it all again, health just gets worse the more I mess with this junk. I would have to be the lucky one to get the van that requires the rare most expensive ECM too, $800 with no guarantee that is the end, and the inline six costs more to put a carb than it costs for a complete used V8, will never suggest anyone but a 300, why, they get worse mileage than a v8, have less power, and if injected, will never run right, seriously, I've chatted with several guys with trucks with the same issues, they junked them and gave up. I hope my mechanic has news tomorrow, been trapped at home 2 months, I have a 2 year old Honda Odyssey out front, has hand controls, but I can't get the seat out from behind the driver so I can put my wheelchair in it after I get in the drivers seat, feel like I'm under house arrest!
Codes it throws now don't exist, seriously, the only numbers it gives are not in the book nor can be found online, its just making it up I guess since literally everything on the engine has been replaced, I had to put pressure on the gas pedal with my hand controls to keep it running in gear, when I had the wrecker pick it up, it wouldn't run in gear without even more throttle added, then the #1 injector burst and sprayed everything on the way home, made a pool under the van once I shut it down, fire hazard.

Little bastard is still in the shop, I think ford fuel injection costs more to maintain than buying an engine plated in gold, if I wasn't on the poor side, I'd put a Chevy V8 in it just for spite, this has been ridiculous.
Once I finally get my Honda back from dad, I convinced him I can get in a minivan with no modifications aside from hand controls, so I have a 2022 Odyssey, tho my health is not getting better, hospital trips were nice in the money pit, I could get on the bed and ride laying down.
My computer is E8TF-12A650-BY2A, the fact I have idle issues, inability to kick the throttle to go into self diagnosis leads me to believe its an ECM issue, tho with the money invested resulting in it getting worse, I will not buy a new ECM, damn intake and carb would be cheaper and no more computer trash with many little electronic components to fail. I had found a running engine with carb, was ready to buy it myself, but dad said no, kind of over a barrel, I can't do the work, and dads to old to help, I miss being able to tackle this crap myself, may be time to send this thing on.
