Anyone got a photo how they added an external transmission cooler, I gotta fit one in, but the AC condenser is so close to the grill already.

Assuming your radiator has a cooler and you don't want to bypass it, you could route your lines like this. The green ones go to the cooler and the red one goes back to the trans. Where you can't see, the bottom line also switches from hard line to hose before attaching to the external cooler.



My cooler is sandwiched between the condenser and radiator. Pretty hard to get a picture of with the air intake hose in the way.

Ditching the radiator cooler, its bad, smoked my transmission, yet the transmission shop who rebuilt it, hooked it back to the radiator, sent it home with instructions to replace the radiator, dad refused to pay for an external cooler and I had no option to cover it, transmission shop didn't want me calling and asking questions or bothering them, as they were dealing with dad. Gotta say the van has been in a shop for near 6 months, he has forgotten about the radiator and has no intention of doing anything about it, forgot the transmission shop told him it burnt it up, replacement radiators are plastic now, so not a fan of fooling with it right now. Hod did you put it between the radiator and AC condenser?

The 2 slots below the grill N above the bumper is where the air flows thru the tranny cooler ...

You got room, even my 99 E350 has room, 89, the ac condenser is almost touching the grill, I called the shop, radiator burst, was the original, was stained, so weak when he grabbed it to move it coolant came pouring out. I wish I had room for a cooler and fan up front, need to find where to add a temp gauge, I live right by the mountains here, like to cross them a lot to see the reservation, been worried about this since it smoked the transmission, 6 months and its still in the shop, this thing has a curse on it. I'm going to think it over, may have the ac condenser removed, then the cooler will have more than enough room, ac don't work, and at this point would be insane to invest more to get it all replaced too.
