The green ones go to the cooler and the red one goes back to the trans. Where you can't see, the bottom line also switches from hard line to hose before attaching to the external cooler. ![[Linked Image from res.cloudinary.com]](https://res.cloudinary.com/dwyzskooa/image/upload/v1693402279/20230830_092644.jpg) My cooler is sandwiched between the condenser and radiator. Pretty hard to get a picture of with the air intake hose in the way. ![[Linked Image from res.cloudinary.com]](https://res.cloudinary.com/dwyzskooa/image/upload/v1693402980/20230830_094128.jpg)

Gotta say the van has been in a shop for near 6 months, he has forgotten about the radiator and has no intention of doing anything about it, forgot the transmission shop told him it burnt it up, replacement radiators are plastic now, so not a fan of fooling with it right now. Hod did you put it between the radiator and AC condenser? | | | Re: 89 Transmission cooler | Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 18,034 Likes: 458 | Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 18,034 Likes: 458 | A pic of my van when it had work done on it ... I know its a Chevy n not a Ford but... The tranny cooler sits below the radiator .. ![[Linked Image from live.staticflickr.com]](https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48765928868_ce3314311b_c.jpg) The 2 slots below the grill N above the bumper is where the air flows thru the tranny cooler ... ![[Linked Image from live.staticflickr.com]](https://live.staticflickr.com/1951/31751766578_9ace651855_c.jpg)

I wish I had room for a cooler and fan up front, need to find where to add a temp gauge, I live right by the mountains here, like to cross them a lot to see the reservation, been worried about this since it smoked the transmission, 6 months and its still in the shop, this thing has a curse on it. I'm going to think it over, may have the ac condenser removed, then the cooler will have more than enough room, ac don't work, and at this point would be insane to invest more to get it all replaced too. | | |
