Good morning everyone!

'99 Ram Van 1500 with the 5.2. I have about 85K miles on it, and I had the AC condenser and evap replaced this past summer.
I replaced the original plugs and wires when I bought it 2 years ago, and I did the water pump shortly afterward, and the shocks last summer.
I think everything else is 23 years old! Basic maintenance has been done since I purchased it; I put less than 2K miles on per year.

Now that it's cold, I have noticed that the heater is not blowing warm. It's not cold either, and the temp gauge shows that it's warming up, though it runs cooler than normal.

Am I off base thinking that my thermostat could be stuck open? My coolant level is fine, and there is not a puddle inside or out that would indicate a bad heater core.
For the price of the thermostat and the fact that it's 23 y/o, I figure it can't hurt anything.

Thanks

The thermostat is the easiest thing to check and change. Not letting the coolant heat up if stuck open.

Hey - I also have no heat, fan, defrost - nothing. I found a wire and attached it to the heat button on the dash, but
It doesn’t slide all the way, and it still doesn’t work. I need next steps, keeping in mind that I need explicit instructions, pictures or a video :-)

Thanks everyone! I got the thermostat swapped out yesterday. It seems to have helped.
The plan is to flush the heater core when the rain stops; this was suggested by a mechanic friend.
