Crate Goodwrench from Jegs. I think they are still under $2000. Heard they are back ordered at the moment. Other places sell them too. Speedway maybe. I paid a small shop I know $1000 to put it in. Took him 3 1/2 days.

I know this is old and the OP has prolly either scrapped the van or left it there but I highly recommend gearhead engines for a crate motor. Outstanding customer service and great core return price ($750) So my 350 reman ebgine cost me $2100 after core return. I went from sad 4.3 v6 to 350. Grinning ear to ear every time I drive Betty now. I’m a self taught gearhead though and did all the work myself.


‘95 G20 Shorty 12/95 build date, reman 5.7 tbi swap at 125k miles, ultimate TBI mods, stage 1 tbi chip, Derale Oil Cooler, deep chrome trans pan, 14 bolt FF 4.10 rear axle w/disc brake swap, G30 exhaust manifolds, Flowmaster Y collector, magnaflow ss muff, 3” exhaust side exit dual tips.
‘89 Beauville Grille and horn bumper swap, New G30 front suspension (new G20 springs) and front crossmember swap. GMT800 forged alloy wheels. Keyless entry.

Mexico does good work. Ram 1500 light duty pickups are all Mexican Dodges. frscke1 just chuckles. He lets me park in the Chevy parking.

That is a sweet swap LSS. Very cool van. Nice work on a not common last year Shorty. Going deep on that '95. The comp9.com report on that unit would be informative. All the model year production numbers, same as 8th engine vin# N, for the L19 7.4 BBC for example. More.

The second generation, after the Early's from the Big Three, the 'modern,' G, B, and E, van platforms with the engine forward were the golden era of the design. V8 still beside! Vanning.

A smallblock 350 is the common Chevy workhorse motor. For Dodge, I'd say the 318.
Ford? Up to the modular motor, IDK. The 302= now 5.0, still available.

As are E cutaways. A builder out in the Central Valley of California will build you a widebody Econoline van from a Ford E cutaway. Same body concept as a Transvan, but it blends well and looks great.

A builder out here in West Texas still produces irrigation pumps, powered using the GM OHV smallblock, 4.3 V6, and BBC factory units. For waay out in the middle of nowhere. lol
