I have replaced my 73 with another van but have hit a problem, bone infections that have finally claimed both of my legs, I am rushing to beat a timeline, my July surgery could possibly eliminate all future automotive work, I keep flipping my abdominal pump, cutting off my supply of muscle relaxer to my spine, withdrawals haven't been fun, then the recent surgery cutting off my left leg, I'm having trouble getting the energy to get what needs to be done. I guess had I used common sense and just swapped everything over to my E350 I would be further, but I was not wanting to keep it forever with repairs to it being difficult, equaling expensive, its been great, barely ever in the shop so its gonna be due one day. You guys made it possible that I could enjoy my van with others who do the same, I've hung out with some great people, now while I intend to make GSVR this year, anything could happen between now and then, I want you to know its been a great ride. Get a handicapped van and keep on going, several people have over the years (Excaliber and Karson to name a couple). No reason (well, ok, not easy but doable) to give up what you've enjoyed.
2005 E350 Turbo Diesel Why is it that when I press 1 for English, I still can not understand the person on the other end????

My Father in law was paralyzed from the chest down and had several wheelchair equipped vans and went everywhere. Get one and keep on getting to the events that you enjoy. | | | Re: Thanks | Joined: Oct 2002 Posts: 3,601 Likes: 10 pooh-bah | OP pooh-bah Joined: Oct 2002 Posts: 3,601 Likes: 10 | I have a lift in the van and other equipment, I have suffered repeated bone infections, end result of every flare up is cut it off, I've been a para since 1998, wheelchair isn't new, the medication is making me sick, everything else I have allergys to, pretty tough to get around as I feel like all my energy is drained, should be coming up on my last dose, I hope I can bounce back and get back to my vans, but fear the weakness is permanent. My 73, the lift in it was given to me by Luke, and moved across the states by vanners till it made it to an event where Cloudy picked it up and brought it to me, I got a lot of use out of it, had there been a place to put it I'd have held onto it. Never imagined I'd be this tired, day after release I finished my ceiling install, been hard to get out of bed since. | | | Re: Thanks | Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 18,286 Likes: 558 | Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 18,286 Likes: 558 | I know what ya mean about getting up in a lifted van ... no energy to any thing meds kickin my azz ... No matter what happens from here on, you're one of the toughest men I've ever met. Hope to see you at GSVR. We'll be up near the front, on the right side, camped right by the river. (site 003). The new campground won't allow us to double up on the sites like Jonie would, otherwise you could park with us. | | | Re: Thanks | Joined: May 2007 Posts: 9,854 Likes: 8 Festerus Vannimus | Festerus Vannimus Joined: May 2007 Posts: 9,854 Likes: 8 | So sorry to hear about this, we wish you the very best and hope it is going well, or as well as possible, for you. God bless and keep on keeping on buddy.
