I’m new,

Got a 89’ G20

I’ve got a noisy diff so Ive removed it rebuilt and in the process of removing it got corroded/broken rear leaf springs

Vans a 1989 lwb G20.

Looking on Rockauto at springs and my question IS:

Are the DAYTON springs any good. Quality wise or does anyone here have any other info on to get decent 6 leaf springs
from. Or are they all good?

I’m guessing a 2100lb weight (1ton) is suitable?

I have a set that I removed off my 91 G-20 Shorty a couple months ago….might need to replace the bushings……you can have them for free. PM me for contact info


Recently purchased (10-2021) a 1991 Chevy G-20 “Shorty”. Past vans are a 1976 Chevy G-10 (purchased new in 1976 & sold in 1995). A 1978 Chevy G-20 Shorty purchased in 2010 and sold in 2015.

Your van weighs 5600 lbs ... my G30 (a true 1 ton) weighs 9000 lbs.

5600 lbs even seems high for the actual weight of the vehicle.

Ideally you want springs that will keep the 3/4 ton capacity, 2100 lb per side would do that.
