 Porthole and Sunroof Question | Joined: Sep 2019 Posts: 1,249 Likes: 68 Master Yard Rat | OP  Master Yard Rat Joined: Sep 2019 Posts: 1,249 Likes: 68 | Ok, so I can't find the answer to the question I'm asking (which means I am not asking the right question), and the brain trusts on Facebook answer 100 different questions other than what I asked. So here goes:
I am going to repair some old bubble windows I have and what holds the bubble lens into the frame? The aluminum frames look to have a double sided glazing strip that is water proof. I tried to use silicone with my sunroof and just made a huge mess instead. CR Laurence sells a waterproof double stick glazing strip that compresses to 1/16th of an inch, but I wanted to make sure this would be the correct use.
I do not mean the sealant around the aluminum frame to the sheet metal of the van. I know that is butyl.
