I was browsing the same auctions my 94 came from and I see a 92 coming up, no pictures posted but vin decode shows it's a shorty. Miles are even lower than mine was. Thinking about bidding on it to flip depending on how rough it looks.

Biggest issue is it's 200 miles away.

I didn't look in the right place, there actually is one picture posted in the catalog preview section. It doesn't look bad really, in fact some of it is better than mine. The hood the paint peeled and it's started to rust.

Pics came up. Not a shorty, fair amount of rust - rockers both sides pretty bad, lower left side more or less gone, lower rear quarters both sides. More paint loss on the right roof and upper body. It's about like my first one was. Tempted to get it anyways to run in the winter, my only worry would be how bad the brake and fuel lines are.

Hey pontiac59,

I caught hell pulling the trigger on my '88 B250, lien sale from a tow yard.
Sight unseen. Gf's gone, still have the Van. Daily driver. My mechanic where I had it towed upon purchase told me he had had one and wished he still did, and to never sell it. 142K 5.2 A500. He was blown away.

New brakes all the way around with all new components including lines. You never know, maybe you'll get lucky .

Bid low. Drive that thing as long as it will go. It's cheap transportation, for sure. Van ON!

If it was closer I would just go to the live auction in person, but I figure over $100 in gas to go and maybe not even want to bid on it. I haven't even been to a state auction this year to see what stuff is bringing.

Well I ended up passing on a proxy bid. Good thing I did, a whole bunch of stuff I pre-ordered ages ago for inventory for my business all showed up today, so I'm going to have a big bill to cover.

I feel like these auctions are a good way to go sometimes because a lot of folks forget about them. Too bad it didn't work out!

The same vans that last fall at one auction were going for $2500-$4000, here local last week same auction, $1500 or less, one running 2004 with a 6.0 brought just $400. Probably because they only get like 13 mpg
