Been working on my 91 G-20 Shorty since purchase back in October. Decided to have a local alignment shop do the replacing of all the “rubber” on the front suspension. Have no problem locating new upper front control arms but so far cannot find the lowers anywhere (even on E-Bay Motors) so wondering if anyone knows of a source I could check with?

Thanks

Recently purchased (10-2021) a 1991 Chevy G-20 “Shorty”. Past vans are a 1976 Chevy G-10 (purchased new in 1976 & sold in 1995). A 1978 Chevy G-20 Shorty purchased in 2010 and sold in 2015.

Thanks but when I checked out the web page it says it does not fit my 91? Will try finding out what the part numbers is/was for both the lower control arms and see if maybe it will match the old numbers listed on page that the part shown replaces….thanks again.

Chevy used the same design for 10 yrs. If it says it fits a 85 to 95 Chevy or GMC G10 or G20 it will fit your 91

Well I tried inputting the years 85 to 95 on that web site and it said that part number for a lower control arm does not fit. Will investigate further when I find the part numbers for both lower control arms for my 91. Thanks

Update:
Just for giggles I just did a search for lower control arms for a 95 and right away had a set come up on car parts.com….looked good so changed the year to 91 and the web site it would not fit a 91…had a link for parts that would fit and the same parts came up as I have been finding everywhere else…just the uppers….no lowers.

You need to wrap your head around the idea that the industry drops off support in as little as 10 years, The computer is wrong, sometimes you need to go the aftermarkets website and look it up. At this point in time everyone needs to start using '95 when looking for parts. I would look for arms starting '81 up, they have not made 1/2-3/4 arms for years now. I got a set from the boneyard. If your willing to spend the coin you could buy aftermarket arms, I am running a set of CCP uppers on my '89 30. They are for C truck and fit just fine after I swapped the BJ. If you look on this site you will many examples of the 3/4 struggle with the lower arm and shaft. Many parts interchange. IE when I lost my upper hose about a month ago I had to start about '93 and I found Dayco 71884. On the websites it did not show for my '89 but for the 90's van. When I went to Dayco's site it showed it to be a trim to fit- fit most, everything from P G C and K truck from 81-95. The meat sack behind the computer ordered 3 hoses, because the computer is right. I asked for my part # and end of story. As you go deeper down the rabbit hole of GM truck front ends the most important thing to remember is your wheel bolt pattern and brake pad # and rotor thickness, then move on to Matching Ball joints. When it starts to paint a picture you can pull the trigger on you parts.

Thanks for the detailed reply. I guess I did not understand some of the terms you used (1/2-3/4; trim to fit:): Can you tell me which years of stock lower control arms are interchangeable for the G-20's?
thanks
