I have a 1998 Chevrolet Express 2500 extended passenger van. It has the factory wheels 16x6.5. I have a set of 16x8 with 0mm offset and 4.176 inches of backspace. I'd like a nice fat street tire. Not into trails or offroad, but I would like more tire. Taller and wider. The van has tons of wheel gap and I dont think I want to lower it. Maybe a little. What tire size would you recommend?

These do look kind of silly sitting so high, you can probably go as big as you want to spend the money on.

With a 16 x 8 I would think you could go at least 255 width but it kinda depends on your clearance at full lock.

Its got 225/75R16 on it now, (stock size). The stock wheels were 16x6.5 and the new wheels are 16x8. If I'm measuring right.

The stock tire size is not ballooned out much at all. Wait I just remembered the wheel is stamped, 16x8, 0 mm offset. They also say they are a heavy duty wheel, capable of handling more then the van is rated to carry.

You can stand a tallboy up in that gap. I will replace the wheels later. They were cheap and fit the tires. I dont want to give up any of the towing capabilities. Im going into lowering the van, nothing crazy. Im thinking bigger wheels, 18 maybe 20. I like sidewall's with white letters. So I think 18s would be the biggest I would do.

The 2002 Express got a little update. Bumper cover, side cladding, and side skirts. This is a 1500 so it sits a lot lower than the 2500. But it looks to be a 1 1/2 maybe 2 inches lower with these side skirts. Going to be making custom fender flares to hide some of the gap also. I picked up the lower valance for the front bumper. It needs some modifications. I plan on cutting up some junkyard running boards and flaring the fender flares. Wider and lower to fill the gap. I'd like to make the top bumper cover and the lower valance all one piece, with the chrome bumper showing. But the fender flares to be molded into the 2002 side skirts.

I will need new tire before I get new wheels. So, the next set of tires needs to hide as much as possible.
