I'm really wanting to push to finish my van in the next couple months. I think Nats would be a great way to celebrate it being finished. The crummy part is if I went, it would be two day's drive time and day one is through the barren NV desert and into Salt Lake City in the middle of summer. That's one heck of a stretch.

I already know what I wanna do with my next one. Buy a Bullnose Bronco and swap the the 4x4 over to a Mid Ford. I guess they're the same size and just need supports welded to it and you've got a nice 4x4. Sigh... I gotta win the lottery... smile

The way we travel (no interstates, short days, frequent breaks, etc.) I laid out our route and we could make it in 6 days. The cool thing is there are state parks along the way that are spaced about 200 to 250 miles apart with neat things to do and see. Taking an extra day or two would make the trip more fun and we'd be there in 8 to 10 days...... retirement is tough...... beer

Oh, totally. That is what I am most looking forward to. But having lived in Nevada for awhile, I am trying to plan for any kind of issues of driving an old car (with no ac) across the desert in over 100 degree days with extremely limited services. Sacramento to SLC is about a 10 hour drive, 8 or so is through the desert. Just gotta plan this one out provided I can get here on the road with several months of shake down driving.
