You know sometimes when one is trying to figure out an "issue" (with me mostly it's electrical issues) and you over think it and when you do figure it out it's so simple you feel stupid.....so figured out both those connectors just plug together...DUH!..(see photos below)....looking at them you would not think so...but I want to thank my Van buddy Ken for letting me stop by yesterday and take a photo which helped me figure it all about...Thanks Kenny
Well have checked everything out in the manuals (shop & electrical) and tried finding videos for a 91 with cruise control repairs/photos. etc.... And have found conflicting info: The electrical manual has a drawing that shows the cable connected to another cable but goes to a harness. Have found videos (none of a 91..late 80's and later 90's) showing the cable connects to a a "device" mounted on the left side of the steering column (see photo of mine below which is mounted in the same place and the cable is long enough but cannot see a location where the cable would plug into it); another video of a 91 CK pickup shows the cable connect to a "device" next to the parking brake pedal but mine is not long enough to do that. Doing a search for cruise control parts found the cable in question that said it fits 83 to 91 (w/ Intermittent Wipers); So still looking for someone that has a 83-91 G van with cruise control and w/ Intermittent Wipers that can maybe post a photo(s) of where this cable connects to? Wondering if I need a part that for some reason is missing....... thanks
After spending some time on the internet and searching in the shop & electrical manuals figured out it is the cable connector to Cruise Control Switch (sometimes the Multi-Function Switch (Cruise Control on & off; wiper control; headlight dimmer, turn signal switch..etc.. on the left side of the steering column ...depending on what manual your looking in...LOL). It has four conductors in it (had to use a magnifying glass to see them). So next step is to figure out where it connects to........
First I want to apologize for all the "electrical" questions, just trying to get the "loose ends" sorted out on my recently purchased 91....LOL Last one (hopefully). Have a single wire hanging down under the steering column. Has a pretty different looking connector on it. Cannot find a male end for it. The cable is flat. The one ends goes into the bottom of the steering column. Maybe someone knows what it is. Thanks
