I am curious, has anyone ever gull winged side barn doors ?

I am thinking a single shock on each door, leave the center latching mechanism so you can lift just the forward door, or leave the latched together and lift both….

Has this been done ? What are your thoughts on the idea ?

Thanks !

Not sure the pistons would work. I gullwinged my front doors (all metal) and wanted to do just one piston. I tried a lot of different sizes and strengths but what I found with one piston is: it was either not strong enough to lift the door OR if I used one strong enough to lift the door it was so powerful that when you closed the door it would "cock" the door and not be lined up right in the door opening.......so I ultimately went with two pistons on each door.

I have a photo somewhere of the 2005 Nationals, there is a van with a single door gull, the other is welded shut, so it's just one door, requires a cylinder on both sides of the door, impossible to do that if you make both open separate of one another.

I know it’s been a while since this thread was last updated, but @cadbomb on Instagram did this with his 60/40 doors I believe. Maybe message him for more info on it
