I am thinking a single shock on each door, leave the center latching mechanism so you can lift just the forward door, or leave the latched together and lift both….
Has this been done ? What are your thoughts on the idea ?
Thanks !

I gullwinged my front doors (all metal) and wanted to do just one piston. I tried a lot of different sizes and strengths but what I found with one piston is: it was either not strong enough to lift the door OR if I used one strong enough to lift the door it was so powerful that when you closed the door it would "cock" the door and not be lined up right in the door opening.......so I ultimately went with two pistons on each door. | | | Re: Gull wing question | Joined: May 2007 Posts: 9,854 Likes: 8 Festerus Vannimus | OP Festerus Vannimus Joined: May 2007 Posts: 9,854 Likes: 8 | I will keep that in mind if I decide to try this route, thanks for the info

Maybe message him for more info on it | | |
