I am pretty sure that there is probably equal concern about theft across the country. The news mentions popular models of cars and suv's that I don't own. I do own a van thats over 25 yrs old, it sure would be easy to get underneath there is tons of room to cut away
So I wonder, is my older van with an older cat much of a target, maybe so after its a little less free money to the crook, is it worth it?
I plan on taking a little road trip up the coast and parking in motel parking lot, hope the cat is still there in the morning.

So, are older vans a target or not?

All the news stories seem to focus on newer import cars. If you can; park your van where you see it from your room if possible.

Yeah, I know, I won't worry, its probably the an easy target that drives the theft. A lonely car parked far enough away from ears is probably a good target.
Also, there are so many newer cars out there a van is probably a 2nd choice, except that desperate tweekers are not the most rational people, a van needs no jack to get under it.

I had some old converters from some late 80's gm's I had replaced. Including the one from my van, the scrap yard said they're worthless. I'm assuming the amount of precious metals in the old converters is not enough to make them worth anything.
