I’m removing the carpet in cargo area and replacing with vinyl flooring. What are some ideas for covering the wheel wells? Also I’d like to cover the foot wells inside the sliding door and the front doors. It’s unlikely weather tech would have a kit for such an older vehicle, I was thinking of maybe using spray on bed liner? And finally I’d like to have a 2inch hitch reciever installed is there one that can be bought? Or probably made? And by the looks the fuel tank will need to be removed to allow mounting to the frame. Any suggestions for the above is appreciated, thanks | | | Re: Hitch | Joined: Aug 2002 Posts: 18,552 Likes: 137 Supreme Master | Supreme Master Joined: Aug 2002 Posts: 18,552 Likes: 137 | If you are not going to have a seat or build a bed that covers them You could build storage boxes over them.
The foot wells in my van are done in rust-oleum bed liner. I then put down some peel and stick anti slip strips I got from Lowes. My youngest son's Ford van has a rubber mat material that is cut to fit and glued in.
Unfortunately I have no knowledge about a hitch for your van. Shouldn't cost a fortune to have one made at a skilled metal fab shop or welder either. | | | Re: Hitch | Joined: Jul 2014 Posts: 4,805 Likes: 123 Uncle Rust N Dents | Uncle Rust N Dents Joined: Jul 2014 Posts: 4,805 Likes: 123 | A CURT 13016 Class III receiver hitch fits our G vans. I believe it fits '78 - '96, but you might want to double check. It's right around $200 most of the time.
If I was going to take the carpet out of my van and cover the floor with something... I'd take the van over to my local Line-x shop and have them spray it up. I had them do the bed of my truck when I bought it, and to be honest, I wish I had more stuff covered in that stuff.
Edit: I just saw Lukester's link and it looks like he's already pointed you to what might be the same hitch.
