Vannin' Home Forums Chevy Performance (GM) Fast ratio steering gearbox

Before performing exploratory capitalism (IE buying a bunch of parts to see what fits) I thought I would ask the hive if anyone knows what steering gearboxes fit my 1995 G2500. I just replaced all of the steering components and front suspension but I have a leak coming from the gearbox that is really disheartening / exciting. I would like to take this opportunity to upgrade to a faster ratio 12.7:1 steering ratio. Do the C-10 gearboxes fit? Has anyone done this swap? What else do I need to know?

If the C10 does fit, it's probably going to have the same ratio. Could probably get a custom ratio box from somewhere, though I have no idea who would offer it. Maybe check out Lee's Power Steering. My 72 Chevelle has amazing power steering and a quick ratio box. I think it is a 12:1 factory ratio IIRC. You could probably mount up one of those or a Vega box with very little fab work. I've also heard of guys using the Jeep Grand Cherokee boxes, but not sure what years.
