Hi,
Been lurking around the past few weeks as I picked up a 77' shorty g20 panel 2 weeks ago. Impound yard find for $800. Plan on using her to haul some of my motorcycles around, camp in and to boogie down. Going to be a nice long term project but my lady and I are excited! (Especially since I told her to design the interior) Got her running after a little bit of working on the rats nest of wiring.
Just got my old 66' dart on the road so this project came at just the right time. We named her Hottie Hauler as shell be lugging plenty of motos around.

Awesome SoCal chevy find GCat! Congrats! Hope it's a 350, should be a smooth runner, the '76 C series truck motors were beasts. Mebe could be. At work in 1977, I had 'a 77 C10, Charles had the '76. Should've nicknamed him Smokeshow Charlie.

If you have lien sale paperwork, you can avoid all the back fees. Find a California Registration Services store. There's one on South Main st, in El Cajon. On my 1K '88 B250, my back fees were $700+ Key word, were.

Love to know more as ya'll go along, more about the Dart too! 360?? laugh Thanks for the pics. Want more! pics
cheers welcome shift

Thx for the tip Lurch! I'll be sure to add them on IG. Still trying to find some good van parts pages. Also need to hit the yards to see what I can dig up.

Wedgy, I already went to the DMV and paid the fees, only came up to $150 for title transfer and new plates and all. I guess the reg was kinda current. I just need to get a SMOG in order to finish up the paperwork/plates. She's rocking a 350 and i just changed the plugs and she seems to running real smooth.

The story behind the van was i guess it was impounded by LAPD in March and someone was able to take it out. Then they parked somewhere they shouldn't have. The Towing company I bought it from does private property removal, like if you park in a CVS parking lot overnight or something. They put a lien on it and sold it to me dirt cheap just to get it out of their yard.

The Dart has a slant six at the moment but I have a 360 on an engine stand waiting for a rebuild and some parts before I can make the swap. Just rebuilt the entire suspension and brake upgrade to get ready for the burnouts.
Here she is.

GrrageCat: Brother; what a killer score on your van ( I have a 1974 G10 Shorty with a good start and a long way to go ) Let me know how the junkyard lead works out.

Your Dart is rocking and cool color. ( " Nick's " looks cool; where is it located ? I'm in North East San Diego County )
