I'm thinking about replacing the side mirrors on the Econoline.

On a different van a while back I did this and used some small aftermarket/hot rod type things that looked cooler but visibility was a lot worse, they were too stubby. I just want something a little sleeker, while keeping a good enough sight picture. The elephant ears on my '78 Econoline stick out almost 9-10 inches and the mirror themselves are 6x9". I like the mirrors on Chevy '70s square body C series trucks, but I don't think they extend far enough out from the body for a van.

Not worried about holes on the doors, when I get the body cleaned up those will be filled.

These kinda come close

For me, the standard 6x9's seem too small sometimes. I drive four different vehicles, the other three have a lot more visibility than the Econoline. You know how it works, " It's your van, do whatever you like."

Well, I found some Bronco mirrors from the same era that weren't a million bucks, I know I'm taking a chance, but they may work out alright.

I've seen lots of vans over the years with smaller "sport" mirrors.

I put the Bronco/Truck/Van mirrors on my 89, they went in the factory holes, someone removed them in the past, only issue, the drivers side vent window hit the mirror, I need to drill a mounting hole further out on the arm, there is a hole way out, but is in the bend, so it don't fit good there.

If you can hit the yards more, the factor mirrors from 80's F150's have a really solid mount and bolts. Way better than those cheap plastic universal mirrors the chain stores sell.

Lucked out on this '77, no need to replace these.
