Can't wait to see the progress. | | | Re: 1977 Ford Econoline | Joined: Aug 2017 Posts: 1,062 Likes: 47 old hand | OP old hand Joined: Aug 2017 Posts: 1,062 Likes: 47 | Decided to redo the window channel/weatherstripping.....windows were loose and rattling and the old stuff was dried out an brittle. What a pain in the ass. The driver's side must have gotten more sun because the strip in the wing/vent window more or less melted and fused in there, which required yanking the whole thing out so I could chisel the junk out. Of course the passenger side took 1/2 the time after learning what not to do. Ended up scratching the tint in the process and decided to yank that off too. I am one tan mofo. | | | Re: 1977 Ford Econoline | Joined: Sep 2019 Posts: 1,510 Likes: 172 Master Yard Rat | Master Yard Rat Joined: Sep 2019 Posts: 1,510 Likes: 172 | I squirted a bit of WD-40 under the rock hard stuff when I removed it on my mid. It slid right out. It was a total pain. I am not looking forward to doing the same on the truck in the coming months.

New intake/head gaskets, tensioner, belts........replacing the harmonic balancer is up next and probably a carb rebuild too because the idle is inconsistent. Somebody got new tires today, the ones on it were scary old and rotted.
