There's a nice crack in the middle of the top cover of this sunroof. It seems finding something to replace it is going to be tough. It cranks up and down fine......the upper cover is attached to the upper/inner frame by a few screws (and prayers) right now. Get a custom piece of plastic/ABS cut? Go to an auto glass guy?

Short of replacing the whole thing, what would you do? I can't really test for overall leaks with a bad top....luckily I see zero signs of water damage to the interior.

...and yes I know it's rusty up there! one thing at a damn time........

When I had my sunroof put it ... they flattened the ribs where the sunroof was located and used black roof tar to seal it. that was 15yrs ago for Red and 10 yrs ago for my white van.

Id find a replacement for that glass .. get a factory tinted van rear window from a yd and cut to size .. that way you know its safety glass and the tint wont peel.

Right now it looks like a roof vent more that a sun roof ...lol

I thought it was a hatch on a pirate ship.
lol

I would probably go to a glass shop, show them what you have, and see what they can do or what they suggest.

If you don't have any luck at a glass shop, you might try a local sign shop. They should probably be able to work with plexi or similar if that's what it is. Maybe even make you a new one tinted in any color you want.

I would look into the butyl tape for waterproofing when you get to that point too.

This one's for the pirates.

A little elbow grease and some butyl tape until a real fix is done.

You hear the thunder of stampeding rhinos, elephants and tacky tigers
This town ain't big enough for the both of us
And it ain't me who's gonna leave

Until you can find a replacement I'd use some EternaBond Roof Seal Tape. Not pretty but NO leaks (if appiled properly). We carry some in our FunFinder TT for emergency use.

I need to look into getting some of that tape. My son's van has vent above his bed that has a cracked plastic cover. We finally got his sunroof to stop leaking with a lot of silicone.

Charlie's idea seems to be your best bet.
