I need a set of the V8 pedestal for my 1992 G20 van, doing a LS swap to replace the 4.3

There are 4.3 to LS mounts. The 95 G30 4.3 4L80E van I looked at in the wrecking yard had the 4.3 mounted in the same position as a V8 also with the tans mounted farther forward.

Why would Chevy put the largest tranny with a 4.3 ? I can see a 4L60E but not an 80 ... the 80 is for large motors.

And why would they put a 4.3 in a 1 ton van .... way under powered haulin that #8860 chassy !

Chevy put the 4.3 in the P30 box vans too. The Express vans had both the 4.3 and the 4.8 with a 4L80E behind them. 4L80E or not was a GVW thing regardless of the engine in front of it.

There is a G30 box van in my you pull right now with a 4.3 in it. It's a 93-95, not sure which year but I sold the cluster out of it on ebay. it's not a huge one, it's the 95 equivalent of the Uhaul rental GMC cutaway vans.

My 1994 G20 the 4.3 sits way back compared to a V8, the fan shroud is much deeper. But it's a regular wheelbase, not the shorty.

The 1995 G30 I once had, my first van, had a 5.7 and still had the 4L60E trans, in fact it even was built with the same manifolds as the pickups had, I went through some misery trying to put a Y-pipe on there, ended up having to change the manifolds after buying a pipe I couldn't return. The pickup ones dump at about a 45' angle, while the normal van ones dump almost straight down.

4.8 is a post-2002 motor, 1996-2002 still had the same size motors as previous models, 4.3, 5.0, 5.7 and whatever the 454 works out to, plus the 6.5 diesel.

Do you know who sells them? They all seem to be listed as 99-07 4.3 to LS mounts.

Don't go nuts throwing away money on mounts you can't use, Remember it's about the distance from the bellhousing to the motor mounts. I did a L6 to V8 swap some time ago, that is how I found this site. I went to the bone yard and bought the complete V8 mounts, waste of money I had the same parts. Notice the rad shroud is quite long? Wonder if you would need it on the V8? While finishing up my 5Spd swap I did the motor mounts and everything looked the same as the small block ( I have the BB). You will find GM made it easy when It comes to mixing and matching parts, You can not make much money having a platform that varies to much. They made little changes to things to make oil pans, air cleaners, exhaust, ect fit. Study the V8 mounting position and after careful consideration buy the V8 ls swap mounts.
