Hello all,

I apologize if this has been covered in the past, I am a noob and could not find anything when I looked.

Can anyone out there help me identify a set of headers that will fit my van? Its a 93 chevy g10 with a TBI 305 in it.

Anyone out there have headers on their g10, g20 or g30 with a TBI motor in it?

Thanks in advance

I have headmans on my 88 g20 with a 305 tbi. #69060 They don't offer provisions for air injection on that set.

Chances are headers for squarebody or OBS pickup will fit. I know that vans could have both the nearly straight down dump manifolds that most trucks had, or I had a '95 that had the angled ones like 90s OBS pickups had. As long as the headers don't stick out to the side much further than stock manifolds there's plenty of room for the rest.

Note: If you're installing headers on a TBI engine be sure you have the 3-wire (heated) O2 sensor. If you have the one wire sensor it will NOT get hot enough with headers to supply info to the ECM. Without input the ECM can not calculate air/fuel ratio and will default to preset programming and you will run lean(er). Your van may be three wire already but if not the three wire is very simple to retro fit from almost any "ignition on" (+) source and a ground (-).
Also it's very important to check your fuel pressure! You'll need at least 13 to 14 psi for the injectors to supply fuel/operate as needed with the headers. A new pressure regulator spring or adjustable regulator may/may not be required. The factory sets between 10 and 12 psi. Even 1 psi makes a huge difference in fuel delivery.

Hey CatFish,

I already retro fit a 3 wire O2, so I am covered there. Interesting point about the fuel pressure.. I have an entirely new fuel system from the pump to the throttle body and am currently getting perfect fuel pressure at factory spec. The addition of headers requires a higher PSI?

Hey Juntao_DW

These are the ones I was looking at, I suppose if they fit your 88 there is no reason to believe they wont fit my 93. Thanks for the reply!

With headers, maybe so.

Awesome link Catfish! Excellent prices on the fuel pressure gauges and adapter. Exactly what I need to troubleshoot the B250 TBI fuel issues.

I wonder if one of these HiPo 454 Thottle Body's would screw up frscke1's smog numbers? So glad I don't have to deal with that. Some inexpensive Mustang insurance. grinYou just never know.

Definetely will be installing the CFM 109 ported carb spacer underneath the Rochester 2BBL on my 4.3 OMC

I have had both headers on a 327 2bbl in a 70 C10, and true duals with stock cast iron manifolds in a 97 Sierra 1500 EFI 350, both with no X pipe. No smog on the carbed 327, 160 thermostat. 97 EFI smallblock, 195 thermostat. Both GM Trucks, but the C10 Shorty with the 327/4sp was very different than the Sierra. Both were way too loud. One thing to consider in a Van 4 sure.

If cost was no object, I'd still keep the cast iron manifolds on all my vans. run true duals with an X pipe to one side in back, quiet mufflers, Seen a few red hot Mopar, n, 454 MH motors with glowing headers, and I just think iron manifolds run cooler. What I want under the Doghouse is as cool as possible.
