The blower motor seems to be working as I can hear the speed change when changing the speed switch but there is no air coming out of any vent or defroster. I took the climate control switch off and found this connector coming out of the back but not connected to anything. Don't know if it should be or not. see attached photo. it has six black wires and one red wire.

Those are vacuum lines and that clear connector plugs into the back of the control unit. Be extra extra gentle with that connector...they become extremely brittle with age and will disintegrate even if you look at them funny.

Nate - Thank you very much for your reply. Yes it is brittle. It was crumbling in my hand. yes one end of the connector (not shown) was connected to the back of the control unit but the connector that I am holding, I couldn't find what it is supposed to connect to. I checked with Dodge and they said that they can't get parts for a 1985

You'll have to get some very thin wall vacuum hose or washer hose and cut small lengths to bypass that connector. Unless you know exactly where to hook up each hose, it will be trial and error. Been there, done that on the 85 I used to have. Unfortunately any used ones if you can find them are going to be just as bad.

Try this diagram. It's for an '86 van, but probably the same.
