New to vanning and want a vehicle that I can drive while fixing it up. Looking for a shorty, brand unimportant, in the 1970s. I have cash standing by, so let me know what you might have. Prefer something in the southeast USA, but will travel for the right deal.
Thanks
Curt

Is there a reason that is HAS to be 70's?

3rd gen Ford and Chevy/GMC used the same body style up into the 90s (75-91 for Ford, 95 for GM...96 for a G30). Dodge was 71-78, then started the new body in 79 and carried it until 1993.

it is relatively simple to make them resemble a 70's van with grill swaps (and taillights on GM) to where the differences are subtle, but you can often find lower mileages, AC, less Rust, and even Fuel Injection with Overdrive. What I am saying is, why limit yourself? if its just for the 'cool' factor, non-van people wont even know the difference.

That's true...
My buddy's all thought mine was a '70s van, and they're all car guys that should know the difference.
Meanwhile, I've got fuel injection, a 4-speed automatic, and A/C.
And only 72,000 miles.

Thanks for those leads - I am not of fan of the ford vans with that long hood. The old Chevy is cool but that is a pretty stiff price. Looks like the G20s are the style that I like.

Shortys are hard to find in decent shape. A running/driving shorty is even harder. eek

Hard to believe they were relatively cheap just a few years ago......

CatFish - That is a pretty good deal on the older unit. I am going to study on that one. Have you heard of any one having any luck getting a van from co-part?
