Anyone have any tips to take the badges off over the front wheels on the 95-back GM vans?

They're old style cast metal with pins and speed nuts on the back, the problem is particularly with A/C you can't really get to the back to get to the nuts very easily. I think I can get the front one, the driver's side if I take the battery out maybe I can get both, but the only way I see the rearmost right side is maybe a long box-end wrench and even then you're about working blind.

The paint is nice so trying to pry and break them is not a great option.

At least the rear one was a stick on and already peeling off. Looks like that's a 93-95 or 94-95 only deal.

Next to impossible to reach. The emblems I have on the spare front clip I've been covering in the Dash FAQ thread have three posts & nuts on the backside. With everything stripped out of that engine bay, it was still only easy to get at the front two nuts. The rearmost on each side are extremely difficult.

I decided to wait until I have the fenders cut off to get them the rest of the way off. I was thinking about retrofitting a couple emblems onto the Queen Anne's Revenge, but after that ordeal, I decided against it. lol

Good luck man, if you come up with a trick, be sure to let us know.

I suppose the first thing I should do is try and find a loose one to determine where the pins are, how deep in I need to reach.

Once I know what size they are and where the best bet may be to make a tool out of a flea market box end wrench, cut the other end off and lengthen it with some tubing or whatever's handy so you can stick it in there and not have to reach in with your hands.

Because they're just speed nuts (or whatever the name for those stamped tin things is), I don't think I need to worry about breaking a wrench on them, some "drop forged" made in Asia 50 cent special aught to be at least as strong as the pins are.

Sounds like it's going to be a how-to video, maybe more people will look at that than the interior panels one.

You take a long flathead and just push the top of nut until it spins off, bottom side for pass fender. I did this once to clean the emblem.
