I don't think I've shared this here before, so thought I would in case anyone else was looking for some groovy shag carpet. I still haven't found a source that sells vintage looking shag by the yard, but this will have to do for now. Some cool colors to choose from.

Dang! They're up there. I found some decent textured carpet at Home Depot in some great colors. The Traffic Master Alpine is what I'm going to get in their Romance shade. It will match my van. Granted, it isn't 3" shag, but it is a wild color with a bit of texture. 15'x10' comes out to about $300 and change when you cut out the install. I'm gonna grab some carpet pad for the floor and bed, call it a day.

Yeah, it is pricey, but it's the only place I can find shag in all those colors online. I want to do the vinyl plank that we used in the renovation house for my flooring, then get a bright red shag rug for the center as well. Who knows, that might all change by the time I get it to that point though.

What I would do and I did, drive around to garage sales at old houses in the area and ask if they have shag and are gonna renovate. You can pull old shag, at your discretion, out of some of these places in good shape. The old wool shag can't be killed like the polyester carpets today can be.

I've been keeping my eyes peeled, but sadly the stuff gets tossed so quick it's hard to get your hands on around here.

I bet, its a total bummer. Oh, try looking on Realtor.com in your area. The houses are for sale and we know most owners gut that stuff.

That Sansom Shag Rugs website is cool. Love the colors. Good to know. Thanks

They have some really cool colors. I never would have thought there would be so many options.
