So the back up lights don't work and the BRAKE light remains on on the dash. I've been told to replace the safety switch for the back up lights but the BRAKE light has something to do with the low fluid sensor.

How do I remove/replace and/or adjust the safety switch??
And how do I replace the so-called low brake fluid sensor.

Thanks.

First...
Make sure the brake light's not telling you the truth. smile
Ensure you're good on fluid in both circuits front and back.
I can't remember the details on that switch, though.

I'm not really sure about the neutral safety switch, but on my '87 Silverado it was a white, flat, sliding switch down on the steering column.
They were a common failure point and my reverse lights didn't work either.

I know my information is wonky, but maybe it'll point you in the right direction enough until someone that knows something comes along.

Both brake fluid levels are full. As for the switch, I do know where the switch is. I just cant seem to adjust or replace the switch.

For the neutral safety switch:
If I remember correctly, the switch is held to the steering column with two screws that go through elongated holes in the switch.
To adjust it, you'd loosen those two screws a little, then move the switch one way or the other to get the adjustment (I don't know the proper procedure).
To replace the switch, you'd take those screws out, then remove the electrical connector...
Do the reverse to install the new one.
Then, of course, you'd have to adjust the new one.

For the brake warning light:
If the fluid level is good, then it could be that the plunger in the combination valve (that junction where all the brake lines meet) has been pushed to one side due to an imbalance in fluid pressure.
You can check for this by removing the connector from the switch on the valve then seeing if the light went out.
If that's the problem, there's a procedure for resetting that plunger, but I'm not good enough at it to explain it here.
It involves getting someone to hold pressure on the brake pedal and watch the dash light while you open a bleeder valve on one of the wheels.
I'm sure there's a good description or video somewhere online.
The documentation I had was in my '67 Galaxie's service manual, but I sold that a few months ago.
