I'll try to do a simplified walk through on how to attach images to your posts. Hope you guys find something helpful.
Some images will be too large to attach, so I'll start out with a quick lesson on resizing. It doesn't matter which photo editing program you use, they should all have a very similar resizing option to change the size of your images. Simply resize them by 50% and try re-attaching them to your post. If they are still too big, resize them again until they are small enough to attach. The program I'm using below is a great beginner photo editing program and it's free. It's called "paint.net" and can be found here:
https://www.getpaint.net/download.htmlSelect resize as seen below, then make sure to save your new resized photo/image.
Once your image has been resized, you are ready to attach it to your thread. There are two methods you can use. I will explain each below.
#1 - ATTACHING IMAGE TO THREAD DIRECTLYWhen you are making a new post, select "USE FULL EDITOR" which will take you to a thread reply screen which has way more options for you to chose from.
*NOTE* Full Editor Mode is automatic when you Start a new thread, but you will have to select it when you reply to a thread
Once you are in the FULL EDITOR, you can scroll down just a little and you will find the "ATTACHMENT MANAGER" under the Post Options section. It will be right under all the emojis.
From there, you simply click the "SELECT A FILE TO ATTACH" button, and pick which picture you would like to attach. Don't forget to click the "DONE" button when you're all done.
#2 - ATTACH IMAGE TO THREAD VIA AN EMBEDED LINK FROM PHOTO HOSTING SITEIf you have images uploaded to a photo hosting website like FLIKR, you can link them into your thread by selecting the "SHARE" arrow at the bottom right of your screen.
Then you select the "BB CODE" section to share, and copy & paste the web address that links to your image. Simply past it into your thread where you want the image and you're done. SIDE NOTE* When using FLIKR to share your images, they automatically add extra mess (info) to the end of your link. If you want only the image displayed, you will have to remove the second line of the link as shown below.
BONUS TIP - LINKING TO EXISTING IMAGES ON THE INTERNETIf you want to link to an existing image on the internet, you can right click the image and select "COPY IMAGE ADDRESS". Then in the FULL EDITOR you can select the "INSERT IMAGE LINK" button above the thread body, and past the image link address into the new pop-up box.
Hope these tips help out guys. If anyone has any questions, or anything to add, please feel free to chime in.
