I wish I wasn't so young back then. I remember them being all over my area. Sadly I also remember a local wrecking yard having a whole line of them about 30 or so deep at on point in the mid 90s, then they crushed them all in the late 90's.

I hear you Meanmachine. My First Club back in the early 70's ; " United Heads " ( No S*#T ) that was the name of the club and we would meet at Shakey's Pizza in El Monte Ca. It looked so cool with all the vans. After the meeting we would cruise somewhere. Good times.

My 2nd club was "Brotherhood of Truckers" out of Whittier Ca. We always cruised the Legendary " Van Nuys Blvd " . It was off the hook and I hear it's coming back . I can't wait to take my 74" G10 out there and relive the Good Times. We would also cruise Whittier Blvd.

I had so many "polaroids" and Kodack pics. I have so very few left. None of the parties; Van runs or cruising. Just my "First" 74 G10 back in the day.

You're going to go down there, just to be met with "No Cruising" signs.

Rusty Check it out: I was searching you tube and a video said something like: "Cruising the 55 on Van Nuys Blvd"

I thought it would be an old school film from the 70's ( and they were cruising their "long" before that ) and I was blown away it was 2 guys from about 2 years ago and their is a section in the video where the driver goes: " check out the Vanners". I was blown away it was like 20 vans lined up like we use back in the day. I was so stoked. I haven't checked it out since then I hope it's still posted. I'll talk to my cousin eho worked for Burbank P.D. and see if he can make a call to see if the cruising is back on.

The driver went uo there because he use to hear all the stories from his dad how Great it was. .....................I sure hope it's back. chevy

Yeah that video has Chris Carter in it. That was his cruise when he was out here flaunting Wild Cherry while there was a warrant out for him.

You hear the thunder of stampeding rhinos, elephants and tacky tigers
This town ain't big enough for the both of us
And it ain't me who's gonna leave

Cool!
That's awesome!

I remember being a teenager wishing I had something cool to cruise.
All I had was a raggedy old Pinto.
Later, I had cool stuff to cruise, just no place to cruise it.
That video brings back a lot of memories of how people used to go out on the weekends and show off their stuff.
