Hi, I was driving a survivor I just got a couple months ago (my 1st van!!!) on the freeway for the 1st time after new brake booster, master cylinder, brakes & tires to test her out and the original vent scoop broke.
Any ideas for a replacement? I like the old look, so was thinking of getting a modern replacement & maybe having a body guy custom make a fiberglass housing over it. Idk. Have any of you had to do this before?
Ouch, yeah could do that & eventually find one for $$$. There's a local Van group here in Utah but's it's kinda small. Thank you! Curious what other people have done in similar situations

You could just put a standard roof vent on top and call it good. There's a couple options out there.
Also, don't throw those parts away. You can sell them to people who want parts for spares. Just advertise them as "Venturi Vent Parts" when you do sell them.

LOL!
Hey, it is a total bear to find these original parts. Even the hardware is scarce. I always buy doubles so I have something for a replacement when I'm done. When I do my second van, I'll go tempered glass ports and an extra sunroof!

You go Charlie! When the time comes; and it will: " Mad Maxx ; Thunder Dome ; The Walking Dead " etc etc... You will Always Be Welcome at Camp Mickey; up in the Hills Of North East County: One way in and One way out.
Water ; Food; Gasoline ; Guns & Plenty of Amo ! What more could you want. Your name will be at the Gates.
Or you can go old school look with modern conveniences. I put one of these in my Ram Promaster van. It's nice to be able to control it from the driver seat, open and close, draw in or blow out air, change fan speeds, built-in rain sensor. https://www.amazon.com/Fan-Tastic-Vent-807350-Series-Vent-White/dp/B00HQZASRW/ref=sr_1_38?adgrpid=1341404751213546&dchild=1&hvadid=83837868141972&hvbmt=be&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=74184&hvnetw=o&hvqmt=e&hvtargid=kwd-83838144904892%3Aloc-190&hydadcr=8427_10833444&keywords=max+air+fan&qid=1614964169&sr=8-38

The Van Diego East County description cracked me up. Despite frying a bunchalotta brain cells, I do remember the following, and, so. Please excuse the story.
I rented from a Car guy who knew the guy with the property North of the 8 in East County with the the big American Flag, right at the big bridge where you can see the water on El Cap. Big Car guy too. He made a Replica of the Bridge of a Ship, that you could climb on like a Jungle Jim. Had all kinds of cool ship shit, because he worked a shipyard, and he had a Van. Shhh.
Owner Guy was an avid Mopar collector, with over a dozen insanely cool Chrysler cars, including 2 winged cars. He threw a Yearly 4th of July party to honor Veterans and put on a Killer USO show. The guy at the gate was strapped. They put out an awesome spread.
At least a Dozen other Old Cars were driven down, and gawked at, Ford Woody, Rods, Wagons. Cool Chevys, more Mopars. I had the only Van, the Cabin Cruiser.
Mr. 1911 45 at the gate asked. "Dude, you planning on staying a spell?" Me, "Ha! I guess I could,, um Well no, this is the only Classic Mopar I own." "Good answer, follow me!" There was at least 300 people there, Including Duke Cunningham. He made a joke about following building code on the East County. 😆
Right up to the top, the Roar of the mighty 360 parted the crowd as the B350 crested the hill and we pulled on up to the upper pad,, with a commanding view, right under the huge American flag, El Cap shimmering in the distance, looking out the side door. At least Dodge makes the side doors the same. Cabin Crusrr is luxury on wheels, especially after a Party. Good Choice.
That was one helluva good party. Yeah that Van wasn't going anywhere until morning. Van On.
