Yeah, he's a good resource.
He helped me decide on what to do about towing my car hauler.
(I decided against towing it with the van)
My car trailer is an 18' Top Hat with a steel deck.
It weighs right around 2500 lbs empty, so something like that doesn't seem like it would work for you, since almost any car on top of a trailer that heavy would put you over your limit.
It seems like a wood decked 16' (may be too short) or 18' might be a good fit since they would weigh a lot less but have a similar capacity.
If you haven't bought a car trailer before, know that there are two kinds...
Those that are slapped together and cost too much...
and those that are built really well and cost too much.
Try to get a name brand if you can, as they usually have decent features and are put together well.
Look at the paint quality, the way the fenders are mounted (and how high they stick up), the way the wiring is routed and protected, and I wouldn't buy anything nowadays that doesn't have Dexter EZ-lube axles.
When I was hunting mine, I looked at a whole bunch of new, no-name trailers that really weren't very good, so I bought a used name brand one.
I didn't really save any money that way, but I got a much better trailer for the money I spent.
