I've cracked the windshield on my 79 G30 and need to replace it. I had my windscreen replaced previously about 10 years ago and the new windscreen came with a gasket which is the same as this I think. They re-used the old gasket the last time so I think I'll try and use this one once I get my new windshield.

Is the locking strip integral to the gasket or is it a seperate item that I'll need to buy?

I think this is a WBL853 seal and needs to be installed like in this video...

I believe you are correct sir.
The correct gasket (and windshield too) will have 853 in the part number regardless of the manufacturer. I'll try on the pictures.

Oh, and yes the locking strip was attached.

One more thing. I love this stuff:


After the glass and gasket are setting in place I put it around the outside between the gasket and the steel and a thin bead around the outside of the glass between the gasket and the glass before locking down the strip. Great stuff=not cheap.

Just picked up a tube this afternoon was about €16 euro / $17.50 USD.

Precision have instructions on their site for their gaskets.
